  • Great scope for the price.
I usually use an 8-inch Dobsonian, but I wanted something more portable that still had good optics. This refractor has been a great choice. The build is solid, and the black finish looks nice. Setup was quick, and I was outside observing in no time. It’s easy to transport and doesn’t take up much space, making it a great option when I don’t feel like hauling the Dob. The optics are impressive for what it costs. The moon looks crisp, with sharp details in the craters. Jupiter and Saturn show up well, with Saturn’s rings clearly visible. I will say that I Jupiter is one of my favorite views in the night sky. For planetary observation I believe this scope may be better than my dobsonian. It handles magnification well without losing clarity. Even from a light-polluted city, I was able to see the Orion Nebula decently well, which was a nice surprise. It deals with city lights better than I expected. While deep-sky objects aren’t as clear as they would be in darker skies, planets and the moon still look great. The telescope is easy to use and doesn’t feel complicated. For the cost, it delivers solid performance without being bulky or difficult to manage. Definitely happy with it. ... show more

  • Versatile, High-Quality Telescope – Great for Stars and Cityscapes!
I am thoroughly and pleasantly impressed with this telescope! You get fantastic value for money with three different zoom lenses AND a 3x zoom attachment on its own, so it's perfect for observing planets as well as deep space. It's put together nicely in the box and took less than 20 minutes to set up the first time! The image is sharp and clean, it's also very easy to use, even for beginners, and its light, compact design makes it easy to carry around on the go. Whether you are looking to star gaze in your backyard or take it on an adventure, this telescope is the ideal choice for anyone looking for portability and superior performance at a great price! If anyone is thinking about getting a telescope, this is definitely the one to go for! Not only is it amazing for stargazing, but it’s also great for viewing distant landscapes and buildings. I tested it by looking at the Las Vegas Strip from my balcony, and the details were crystal clear—even from miles away. I’ve included some photos in my review to show just how well it performs. Whether you're exploring the night sky or enjoying city views, this telescope is a fantastic investment! ... show more

  • Really nice beginners telescope for all ages
I’m absolutely thrilled with this telescope! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced stargazer, this telescope is a game-changer. The quality and thoughtfulness of the design are immediately noticeable—it’s sturdy, well-made, and the setup is quick and easy. The 90mm aperture and 900mm refractor lens provide sharp, bright images with a powerful 450x magnification, letting you explore incredible details on the moon, planets, and even distant stars. One standout feature is the phone adapter, which makes it super simple to capture stunning photos of celestial objects. I’ve taken some jaw-dropping shots of the moon and Jupiter that left my friends in awe! The tripod is stable, minimizing any shaking, so you get a clear view every time. Plus, the carrying case is a thoughtful touch, keeping everything secure and making it easy to take this setup on the go. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the quality for the price. If you’re interested in stargazing, this telescope is a fantastic choice that delivers an impressive experience every time you use it. ... show more

  • Not for a beginner, but quality of telescope seems good
We bought this telescope since my husband and I have always wanted one and have never had one before. From the reviews, I anticipated this being a beginner telescope, very easy to use and catch some great images from not just the telescope, but also the smartphone adapter. The nice carrying bag was good and if we moved the telescope around, it was very light. I do want to note that this has been returned, because we gave it a bit of time to figure things out. The instructions left out some key details. One example is when I first put the telescope on the tripod stand, it kept flipping back, as if it wasn't being held in place. There was not anywhere in the instructions that said to use the long lever to turn to tighten it (figured this out on my own). The seller has stated that this has been corrected in the manual. I did my best to try to figure out the smartphone adapter and eventually gave up, as I could not be successful at it. Not sure if it's because of the type of phone that I have (an iPhone 15 Pro Max) but I was not willing to be patient to figure it out since it seemed as if it should have been a lot easier to put together. We read the directions several times to try and get a view of the moon through the telescope and this unfortunately never happened. It was like something was blocking the view, even though it wasn't, and we did remove the lens cover on the end. We could use one of the lens without the telescope to see some up-close visuals of the moon which was pretty cool, but it would have been better if the full moon was in view and not just a super up-close visual of certain parts of the moon. ... show more
