  • My FIRST telescope is EXCELLENT! Get one yourself!
First thing I would like to get out of the way, I've never been an astronomy buff or stargazer. However, within the last six months to a year I have had a growing interest in the alignment of stars planets, and other heavenly objects. Now I'm interested... Thanks to algorithms and Facebook, I kept seeing ads and posts about telescopes and astrophotography, I jumped at THIS deal. Good thing too, a lunar eclipse is a few days away, and I have a desire to view it live. Within thirty minutes of receiving my telescope from my USPS carrier, I was already taking a photo of a high tension power pole, more than 500ft. away. So, YES it does have the ability to allow most phones to take pretty good shots. moon pics and "still" life outdoors, with the help of a clever adaptor. These are great optics, too. I was delighted to have a good view of the top of a nearby mountain, about 10 miles north of my home. All of the eyepieces are solidly built, and have power! A 3x booster is great for moon viewing! Overall, this is a nice, portable, lightweight, easy to use, easy to assemble and fun to receive as a gift beginner's telescope, and it's definitely not a toy! ... show more

  • Amazing telescope for new or experienced users !
What a fantastic telescope for both beginners and more experienced users ! I myself am brand new to all of this and I couldn’t have chosen a better starting point to being stargazing. Setup was simple and straightforward and was out looking at the sky within 30 minutes from opening the bag. Getting acquainted to the lenses was a breeze and swapping them to get better magnification was a joy. A great addition to the set is the finder scope, it makes locating a specific point in the sky that much easier and allows you to only have to make small edits to locate what you are looking for. Same thing when it comes to planets, except this time the focus is on the lenes. The clarity of the image you are viewing is unmatched, you can really see the surface of the moon and all its craters and features ! The adapters are awesome as well, the phone adapter removes the need for trying to freehand a picture and lets you take some amazing shots. The holder for the phone is great as well as it allows you to know what you are looking at in real time, stars, constellations, and planets alike. Overall, this is a great entry point for newer astronomy lovers as well as experienced users, and a great bang for your buck. If you want amazing visuals and great pictures to share with friends and family, look no further. ... show more

  • Good starter telescope
I’ve had this telescope for a couple months now, and I’d say its current 4.2 star average is pretty accurate. I was pretty impressed with the solid build for the price point. The tripod is also pretty solid, but short. Even with the legs fully extended, I have to sit on the ground to be able to see straight above in the sky. Setting it up wasn’t hard at all, but there was a learning curve for someone new to telescopes like me on getting viewing techniques down. A telescope with this focal ratio and aperture isn’t really made for galaxies, but it’s great for viewing planets. I can get good views of Jupiter’s cloud bands and make out the red spot with good seeing conditions. Saturn’s rings are definitely easy to spot. It’s easy to see the phases of Venus. No other planets have been in the night sky for me yet, but I have no doubt I’ll be able to get a decent shot of every single one. Moon shots are stunning, but from my research I think you can get that with any $50 telescope. Just don’t let the advertising of the powerful magnification fool you. For a telescope with 90mm aperture, anything more than 180x zoom is pretty useless, as it’ll just get blurrier. The 3x Barlow is cheap plastic anyway. Overall, I am very pleased with this scope, though part of me wishes I would’ve forked over a bit more money for something with wider aperture. ... show more

  • A Stargazer's Dream Come True: My Incredible Experience with This Impressive Telescope
I just got my hands on this new telescope and I have to say, I'm totally smitten! As someone who's just getting into stargazing, this thing has been an absolute game-changer. When the package first arrived, I was really impressed by the quality and thoughtfulness of the design. The telescope itself feels super solid and well-made, with a nice sturdy tripod that keeps everything nice and steady. And let me tell you, the instructions were a breeze to follow - I had the whole thing set up and ready to go in no time. But the real magic happens once you get this baby outside and point it up at the night sky. The 900mm refractor lens provides seriously impressive magnification, allowing me to see all kinds of incredible details on the moon, planets, and even distant stars. And the different eyepieces that come with it are fantastic - they really let you fine-tune the zoom and focus to get the absolute best view. One of my favorite features has got to be the phone adapter - it makes it so easy to snap stunning photos through the telescope. I've already gotten some absolutely jaw-dropping shots of the moon and Jupiter that my friends and family have been going nuts over. And the whole package is wonderfully portable too. That carrying case keeps everything nice and protected, so I can easily pack it up and take it with me if I want to find a nice dark spot for some serious stargazing. Honestly, I'm just blown away by this telescope. It's perfect for beginners like me, but I can tell it's going to grow with me as I dive deeper and deeper into the wonders of astronomy. If you're looking to get into stargazing or just upgrade your current setup, I can't recommend this thing highly enough. It's an absolute gem! ... show more

  • Great telescope for observing solar system
I night this as a gift for my son. Both are us are very enthusiastic about science. When the package arrived, the telescope was packed nicely in portable carrying case which makes is very easy to carry. All the eyepieces and other important optical instruments came in a separate carrying case which help protect them from any kind of damage. The telescope was of great quality and build with sturdy material. It was very easy to setup and took us about 10 minutes to setup entire stuff. The installation instructions were very clear and easy to follow. In terms of quality, I really liked it given the price point. We observed moon with it and were able to clearly see the craters of the moon very clearly. We also tried it for observing mountains in day time which was fun. The focusing was bit difficult to do in start but as you try it more and get used to it, that becomes simpler. Overall it’s a great value for money and it’s fun to observe things with kids using this telescope. ... show more

  • Longer legs needed
Good telescope but have to get on your knees to look through it because the legs are not tall enough. My husband of 6 ft was very disappointed we have to put it up on a table to be able to look through it

  • See and be seen by the stars
Excellent view of the Moon. Have not zeroed in on stars or planets yet but the Moon view was quite eye opening. I'm looking forward to years of star gazing and bird watching. Very easy to assemble and light enough to carry anywhere. I'm a grown man but I'm going to explore the galaxy with the eagerness of a child. ... show more

  • Not worth it. Very poorly made.
It is a telescope. That is pretty much all I can say. It is NOT stable. Put the camera mount on and the entire thing is no longer looking at the same item. Says it was for adults and now it says for kids and beginners. I just wanted my money. In the beginning Amazon sent and billed me for two. I didn’t order two. That was a thrill! None of the adjustment knobs stay tight. Very poorly made and I would not suggest wasting your money. ... show more
