I had no prior boxing experience, and technically still don't. But this is a great & inexpensive amusing product for either blowing off a little steam if you're pissed off, or getting an upper body workout and a good laugh in the bargain. I've only used the beginner ball, and went from lockdowns & being sedentary to trying to find ways to motivate myself to actually move and get some exercise — I also had some people pissing me off, so I wanted a speed bag and figured there had to be one that I could attach to a doorframe. This is even better, actually. Far less expensive, easily portable, lightweight, comes with an extra headband & beginner ball if you want to entertain a friend or family member too, and if you get good at it there's more challenging balls to try out. I got some boxing glove liners which have padding for my knuckles and glad I did, I have a connective tissue disorder and can bruise easily. Occasionally the ball comes back at you and you can't or don't dodge and get bopped in the face or shoulder but it's like getting hit by a nerf ball, that's pretty easy to laugh off. But when punching the ball there's the combined motion of the punch and the ball combing back at you to contend with, so I'd recommend some type of hand protection so repeated whacking your knuckles doesn't cause any issues. This is a great upper back workout, if you move around a lot while doing it, bend your knees slightly, duck & dodge, you'll get core and lower body while you're at it. You can have fun, work out to music or pretend you're punching some dork who made you angry and get a workout before you know it. Bought this as a fun thing for my 12 year old son to do between studying... to help focus and to also work on reflexes. My son and his friend had a nice time with it initially. Kinda funny when it bonks you on the head, but still be careful. My son hasn't really picked it up often since... however, we introduced it to another friend who is very athletic and very hyperactive, who loved it. I shared with him some youtube videos of tricks and various things you can try... the friend used the boxing reflex balls for hours and got better really quickly.     • Way different than anticipated.
This is literally a ball on a string. I bought as a Christmas present for my nephew and he was disappointed. So was I.

    • Anyone claiming it's impossible must have zero hand eye coordination.
Either that, or these people give up on anything and everything that even challenges them slightly. Make sure it's adjusted to your height (standing straight up, head forward, the ball should be hanging in front of your belly button). Once it's adjusted, with a little persistent, you can start chaining some nice combos. Start yellow, and punch lightly. Once you get the timing of moving your hands back and fourth and can consistently hit the ball, either punch a little harder, or move up to the next level ball. Also consider wearing safety glasses. I've had the band snap back on my nose and eye with a decent little sting. I would wear some eye protection when you use this. When i first started, i missed more than i hit, or would quickly break the combo. Two days later, playing with it an hour or two a day, i hit way more than i miss, and i can consistently combo 25+ punches without much effort. Now the challenge is trying to punch and move at the same time. Footwork combined makes for a hell of an exercise for coordination. ... show more
