  • Better with off center hits
Hand Orientation: Right Shaft Material: Graphite Flex: Stiff Loft: 10 Degrees
The media could not be loaded. I currently use a Rogue ST Max and I immediately noticed that I don't hit the ball further with this QI10 as long as I’m hitting the ball in the sweet spot. However, I'm not always hitting the ball in the sweet spot... so on average it improved my carry while keeping the spread pretty much the same. Do note that this driver comes with just the driver and head cover... there is no adjustment tool which I think is a mandatory tool to ensure the head is on tight and you adjust the loft to your liking. It also helps to have the torque limiter on the adjustment tool so you don't over or under tighten the screw. A first big take-away is there's no AI inertia magic tech that will cure bad ball striking. I can still shank it, top it, and snap hook it. In addition, I don't think there's "any" golf club upgrade that will better than a good coach, or self-learning discipline with drills and video instruction. But since we are talking about the equipment, this "is" my new driver simply because the launch data added distance. The primary reason I like this driver is because the ball striking feels good no matter where you hit it on the face. On older drivers, you miss the sweet spot and you feel the club face twist and the ball has a pretty "dead" flight and sound. I do find that most drivers released in the past few years are going to carry close to the same distance on good strikes, so I think driver technology hasn't really improved "max" distance but has only shown improvements in "forgiveness". As far as the shaft, it feels pretty standard, and I can launch the ball fairly predictable and can only blame the "swing" for errant ball flights. Only change is I'll probably swap out the grip for a mid-size - since it comes with a standard size. If we are talking "looks", I never really liked how the stealth looked but this QI10 is absolutely stunning and it hurt my heart when I saw it getting scuffed up during evaluation. In summary, I love/hate the fact that drivers depreciate like graphics cards where last years model drops in price significantly. In addition, the manufacturers always seem to discover ways to marginally improve upon their products but make it sound like its leaps and bounds... It took me 4 driving range sessions and I hit about 200 balls into a net using impact tape because i'm not a robot so I needed some bulk data before I could define some conclusions. Let me be frank and say that some days I was hitting my old driver (with fitted shaft) better. The bottom line is this didn't make me hit the ball longer, unless I hit it on the toe or heel and maybe it goes an extra 5-10 yards vs using an older driver. The reality is that there's added confidence hitting the ball with a new driver so I can't really factor that out, but I'm leaning towards the QI10 to add about 5% increase in forgiveness. Is it MOI better? I say get fit and find out... ... show more
