I guess I'm still getting used to these "Magic" pins for quilting. These are longer than the standard quilting pins and seem to be finer than the previous pins I've used. I do like the comfort grip on the end as they are easier to use as you direct the pin into the fabrics. They have 2 different packages - one with 50 pins and the other containing 100. There are slight differences in price points depending on the retailer, so I recommend visiting your quilt shop and ask if they have any you could "test drive" before you buy! ... show more

I think these pins were designed for quilting rather than regular sewing or working with delicate fabrics, like silk. The shaft of each pin is thick, sturdy & meant to pierce multiple layers of fabric, which is helpful, especially when you are "crafting" with fabrics. I bought the 2.25" pins (shaft=1.75", head=.5"). They're very easy to handle & they come in a handy little plastic case. I can also use them to 'stab', pick up & place tiny pieces of paper onto decoupage projects. I tried to take a photo & add it to this review but Amazon wants too much access to my phone. They won't let me simply add a photo on my own... so no pic. I use these when I'm doing custom quilts on the longarm to hold all three layers and prevent shifting from heavy quilting. I would use the specific longarm pins if you want them to attach to your leaders. These pink pins are sharp and fine. For what I'm doing, they are not bending out of shape. I can't inform you how they'd work for a sitdown machine basting but with the longarm set up, I'm in love with these pins. ... show more

Iโ€™ve purchased these pins twice now, I love them that much. The pink tipped ones are long and thin, great for quilts as well as regular items. I like these pins for ease of use; especially that they are heat resistent and won't melt if I iron over them. I have bought each size available and really like the yellow applique ones too. I do not like the container they come in, it is akward to open and such an odd shape that I am not enthralled with picking pins out of it. I gave away my non Magic pins and put them in my container; much better to my liking and use. ... show more

I really wanted to like these pins, but I just struggle with them. I hand sew a variety of items including quilts and have used these for about a year now. I like the pin head and the length. I've had to throw a number away however, due to the rough coating on the metal creating difficulties in pushing it through many fabrics. In addition, they are quite flimsy and many have bent upon pushing them through heavier or multiple layers of fabric. ... show more
