This is a good looking piece of furniture for a bargain price. It's easy but tedious to assemble, taking about 35 or 40 minutes using my battery powered screwdriver/hexdriver. It blends well with the furniture nearby and holds a decent amount of books. I can suggest two improvements: 1. Include some screw hole covers to hide the 4 highly visible and distracting fasteners that hold the shelves together. 2. Drill holes for the mounting brackets on both sides of the support shelves so that the small section of the top shelf can easily be oriented to the right, as it currently is, or to the left, as I needed to balance the appearance of the 2 units I placed on either side of another piece of furniture. ... show more

At such a low price point I was concerned this would have that cheap pressboard look. Since of course when this inexpensive they can’t use solid wood. However this looks very nice! It’s quarky style just sets it apart. And even though they give the measurements it still turned out much larger than I expected. So it doesn’t look like a tiny insignificant piece, it looks substantial. I’m so pleased with this. ... show more

These are very reasonable cost for the amount of storage space gained. The sole purpose for us is to create a library, so the contents are quite heavy. The shelves are holding up fairly well thus far.

This is a decent bookcase worth the $100. It's not a high quality piece of furniture but it works for a kid's room or spare bedroom. This was super easy to assemble (25 - 30 minutes) and its relatively sturdy once braced to a wall. The bookcase is also modular. You can build this anywhere from 12" to 72" in 12" increments. The biggest flaw for me is the lack of screw head covers. When I look at it all I see are screw heads. ... show more

I was hesitant to purchase this shelf unit after reading some of the negative reviews, but it was the only one I could find that fit my needs and dimensions. I have had copious experience with Ikea assembly and found this item to be similar and simple. Quality was only slightly inferior to Ikea. Some of the pieces were dirty and had to be wiped down. None of the pieces were damaged except for the small chip on the edge of one shelf, as shown in a picture I included. As pictured, it was corrected with a paint pen. Many have asked if this shelf can be used as a room divider with the side of the shelf anchored to the wall. This is exactly how I utilized the shelf. That said, it is far too lightweight to be used in any capacity without anchoring, and hardware was included. However, for a clean look with no brackets visible. I simply drilled pilot holes through the three side sections touching the wall and anchored into a stud in the wall with long wood screws, then painted the screw heads white. As seen in my included photos the metal cams are quite large and obvious. I chose to get the vinyl stickers to cover them, but again a paint pen could camouflage them nicely, and I may decide to try that in the future. This is a perfect book shelf. Everyone who comes in our home loves it. It adds height, dimension and a nice bright clean look. We added some feet to it for a little extra height, but the original shelf on its own is gorgeous’ it holds nicely and was really easy to put together.
