It is hard to find a chess club for my son. Bought this AI chess for my son. The AI chess is well made with high quality. We both like play with AI, just like play with a very good human player. The tutor function is great. AI response is quick, my son doesn't have to complain my slow response anymore. My son and I still can use it to play face to face. Easy to be carried, we will bring the AI chess to our camping trip.

Let me preface this with, I am returning it, but NOT for the reason you might think. I'm an average chess player, but I got to a point where I wanted more. I wanted the ability to connect my phone via Bluetooth to be able to play other people via an app. This doesn't have that feature. So, back to the board itself. It's a great board and the AI is no chump. I used to set up the puzzle of the day on chess.com and the play was identical. It would've been nice to add a second queen, but unfortunately it doesn't. Some people have complained about the magnetism, but I had no problems (see the photo) with pieces sliding on the board. The included literature is informative and will get you going in no time. The cards will be a great help for beginners and novices to learn piece movement. Overall it's a great little machine that I think you won't be disappointed in.

I am completely a rookie to the game, but this chess set looks pretty good to me. It has a full set of manual teaching how to setup the teaching system and the AI opponent. Now I am using this set to play with my friend, and I will try playing against the AI in free time. This chess set looks suitable for any rookies like me because of the teaching system, or anyone who wanna have fun alone playing with the AI.

I am an adult, over 60 with dexterity issues, and I didn’t realize just how small the pieces are, they were hard for me to remove them from the packaging and with the magnetic bases they tended to clump together in a ball, they do not stay in place on the board tightly AND there are no options to even purchase replacement pieces! Nothing online fits! There’s a black rook somewhere in my living room that will never see battle! I’m sorry I made this choice. Be very aware that the pieces are child sized.

I've played a couple of games and there may be a problem with either opponent moving the right pieces. In each game, once the computer's queen leaves the board, a pawn is mysteriously promoted to queen without reaching the opposite side. Up until that time, the computer seems to be a good opponent. The board is nice, and the various functions are great, especially the problem solving aspects. Is this chess computer worth it, I'm not so sure. The "mystery promotions" are a problematic sign. I'll be experimenting some more with it, but I don't have high hopes.
