I had a paint project to do and was excited to use this sprayer as you are not tethered with a cord or air hose. I was using interior water based paint and had to dilute a bit to get the correct viscosity. It was easy to use and gave a nice even coat of paint. The reason for only four stars is that it is heavy to hold and after a while I developed a blister holding it. Also it used up a full battery just about the time the paint ran out, which was good except I had more to do. This is a very handy item for small jobs. You'll need to dilute your paint to get the right viscosity. You can then adjust flow, volume, and viscosity. The only downside is that it drains the battery fairly quickly, so if you don't have multiple batteries you may not be able to finish a larger job.

For a battery operated sprayer, I was surprised at how low the noise was and that it was a pleasant sound. Reminds me of a bubbling sound. I got a nice, even coating. There is a flow adjustment control and it is easy to disassemble and clean.

The media could not be loaded. I got this to apply stain on my fence versus rolling or brushing. I did a quick test with water just to try the machine and ensure it will work. The output is good and consistent. I've also had a battery in for several days and it hasn't drained it yet meaning there's likely little-to-none parasitic/phantom drain on the battery. It sounds like a blow dryer or leaf blower while running. Weight-wise it's pretty light on its own so it will greatly depend on what size battery you pair it with. There is a lot of adjustability in the sprayer and it came included with different nozzles. It also comes apart pretty extensively and easily for cleaning. I'm not sure how this will perform compared to an airless tool. But there's a lot to be said for the convenience of portability while on the far end of a property or if you don't have access to an outlet or generator to run a corded tool. ... show more

My wife gave me that model gun and it felt cheaply manufactured when I got it. And the item is not compatible with the Dewalt batteries shown. False advertising. My wife purchased this item because I have several tools that use Dewalt batteries and this tool does not work with those batteries as advertised.
