  • Wonderful Support
My wife had been wanting a small kiln to work with PMC for a couple years now. I got this one because it also works as a burnout oven for lost wax. When she went to do the initial burn in program, it did not work. It was a couple days after Christmas, and she was getting super frustrated because nothing would work like it should. Control screen was flashing an error and it wouldn't heat up properly. I made a quick call to the seller and was on the line with a support agent in seconds. Handed the phone off to my wife and the tech immediately knew what was wrong from the description and told her how to resolve the issue (crossed wires during assembly). The fix was as easy as unplugging two wires and swapping them. The kiln itself works great and came extremely well packaged, but the customer service is where the company really shines. ... show more

  • So far, just AWESOME!
First of all, I must say they did an AWESOME job packaging my furnace. When it arrived, the folks at the post office had somehow managed to rip a HUGE hole in the box (see pic). I was sure the furnace would be damaged, if not just totally destroyed. Folks, there wasn't a scratch on that furnace, and it fired right up! I was impressed! Secondly, I was just as impressed with how easy it was to program. I had read in some of the comments that some people found it confusing, so I was a little wary when I started, but watching the YouTube vid on how to do it, along with keeping the written instructions with me when I programmed it for the first time, it was a snap! Now, to be completely honest, I did watch the video on programming it three times, but the vid was only like 12 minutes, so it was well worth the time. I had ZERO problems programming the initial firing. Now, as of this post, I haven't done an actual burnout yet, just the initial firing phases, and I plan on doing my first burnout this weekend, but so far I am thrilled with this furnace. I'll update my review after my first burnout this weekend.... Update: Ok, so I have one burnout in the books, and it was a success! It took me MAYBE 2 minutes to program in my 8 hour burnout, I had ZERO problems, the furnace worked as it should, and gave me a clean burnout, resulting in a great cast. Well, except for a small air pocket, but that was bad tree construction by me. 5 stars! ... show more

the A/M softkey does not function. there phone number displayed also does not function and transfers you to an angry man explaining he gets 10 calls a day for this oven, its a wrong number.

  • Exactly what I needed.
It's been delightful working with PMC on this kiln. I started by discussing what I needed with their tech support through Amazon. Got quick and helpful responses from them immediately, and settled on this burnout oven. It's small (about the size of two stacked toasters), but does exactly what I need - burn out 3D printed PLA from investment molds for metal casting. Programming the oven takes a bit of getting used to, but is aided by the fact that the oven retains the program after power-off, meaning you don't have to reprogram if you're doing the same kind of burnout on multiple pieces. Some online searching found a youtube video that demonstrated programming. After that it was smooth sailing. PMC was great when I ran into a minor cosmetic issue with the oven after its first use. A tile was loose, and given the high heat levels, I suspected not just any wire staple would be appropriate to tack it back in place. Their tech support agreed, and send a bag of wire staples that arrived a few days later. In short, great customer service and a company that stands behind their product. I'm loving this oven, and expect to be using it for years to come. Well done PMC! ... show more

  • Error message during first use, unable to contact customer service
Great size, love that it is programmable. Sadly, during the initial Break-in, I got an error message and the Kiln never burned off. I tried to call the number provided and e-mail with no response. I would have exchanged it but now that I know there is no technical service/customer service, I don't want to take the chance. SAD! ... show more

  • Perfect for small scale wax casting
Perfect! I love that it's programmable. I really struggled with the non programmable, because I bought that by mistake at first, but I was able to return that and get this. I would say it is just right for beginners.

  • Nice unit, but very small...
Nice LITTLE oven... And I mean LITTLE!!! Easy to program, heats up quick, does the job just fine so far. But if you're purchasing this unit as a burnout oven for lost wax/resin to metal investment casting, be aware that it'll only hold the smallest perforated flask that you have. I didn't read the description/specs closely enough, now I'm going to have spend even more money to get a larger burnout oven that'll fit the two larger flasks I purchased for investment casting. But if all you need is a small oven, you won't go wrong with this. Nice unit. ... show more

  • Perfect kiln for jewelry work!
This little kiln is the perfect size for an independent jeweler. I have done several burnouts in the few weeks I have owned it and they have all worked flawlessly. Operation/ Programming is a little confusing at first but once you understand the process it's quite simple. PMC customer service is top notch as well. ... show more
