A nice little vise for being that extra hand. It is the right size for smaller items. Clamps onto the workbench and provides enough hold for small jobs. Don't expect this to hold big heavy stuff or things you are planning to crank hard on. This vise is not designed or intended for that kind of thing. The operation of the vise is smooth and easy. I need a small vice that I could attach to my work bench when working on small craft projects. I didn't want a heavy-duty permanent vice that you had to drill into the surface, as I only needed something for small craft projects. The reason I selected this vice is because it had a rotary tool/Dremel mount which I use. It will help free up one hand as I can clamp it to the bench. It came with a small bag to package it which is great as I don't intend to have it out all the time. I had to watch the video on the product page to figure out how to switch out the vice with the rotary holder as there were no instructions in the package. They provided a hex wrench with one end have a Philips head. I ended up using my own hex wrench as mine were taller and I was able to more quickly remove the screw that was holding the vice to the ball head. I've seen similar small vices before, but none with the rotary holder attachment. Overall, I'm very pleased with this and it will come in really handy. ... show more

The fit and finish here isn't inspiring, but the frame is quite strong, more than enough for light-duty work, and the clamps and ball joint all hold well. It will easily handle crafting and most any small-scale work. The top clamp opens about 2-3/16" before it comes apart with the rubber covers on, 2-3/8" without them. The bottom clamp opens 2-1/8" with the rubber cover on, 2-1/4" without it. The rubber grip covers for the clamps are fairly substantial, should hold up well. The top ones are a little loose. You could easily fix that with a little rubber cement or double-sided tape, I suppose, but it isn't a problem when the clamps are in use. Comes with a drawstring pouch to keep it and the accessories in. The bag's big enough to fit the whole thing in, but I like to leave it the vise stretched out straight with the bottom clamp handle sticking out like a carrying handle. This table vise is a welcomed addition to my workbench. I like that… - It is lightweight and easy to handle. - The surfaces are well coated with a solid finish. - Both the vise jaws and the clamp have removable protective rubber covers. - Although it is a compact vise it is large enough to handle many projects. - With the ball and socket design, the vice jaws can easily be rotated in many different angled positions. - The vise can be converted to a clamp style vise. One minor thing is that it is inconvenient to remove the jaws from the vise with the included hex wrench since the long end of the wrench is a Phillips head screwdriver. Using just the short end of the wrench is time consuming. Otherwise, highly recommended! ... show more

I got this to work on electronics and to be able to hold my printed circuit boards still while I worked on them. It clamped nicely to my 1 1/2" bamboo wood bench very nicely. I measured the gap, and think it should *just* fit a 2" top, but you might have to wiggle it on. Came with a circular clamp as well, and a handy nylon bag to hold it all in. ... show more
