Just a long process. Mostly, set it up by myself and it took me 3hrs because of all the small parts. The materials feel sturdy and well-crafted — it’s clear this isn’t just a pretty bed, but one that’s built to last. The headboard has a lovely distressed look without appearing overly worn, and the platform design eliminates the need for a box spring, which I really appreciated. One of the standout features is definitely the 80” storage chest and the four large drawers. They’re incredibly spacious and slide smoothly, offering ample storage for extra linens, blankets, and even seasonal clothes. We bought this queen size bed for our daughter who is attending university 3k miles away. I was a little worried about our daughter being able to assemble this bed by herself but I read a review of a senior lady who was successful at putting the bed together all by herself so I figured it would be okay. (Spoiler alert: it was!) The bed arrived in 2 big boxes. Our daughter was very impressed how well everything was packed. She said each piece was wrapped and padded very carefully and every piece was in perfect condition! Everything was labeled and easy to sort, also. Our daughter set out to build this bed and 6 hours later she had it all done! It was a learning experience for her and she did end up calling her dad to ask for some clarification on one of the steps. Otherwise, she said the directions were pretty clear and she took her time to do each step correctly before moving on to the next step. Our daughter is so happy with this piece of furniture! She has told me on numerous occasions how beautiful it is and she is impressed by the quality and design, too. It's a very heavy and very well made piece of furniture. She loves the extra storage the attached bench provides and how cool it looks! She is beyond thrilled with her new bed! She says that she is delighted to see her new bed every time she enters her room. She's also told me that her friends all think it's so nice and love it too! She was so pleased that we went ahead and purchased the matching nightstand for her, as well. (And we hit another home run with that piece of furniture too! Also beautiful and well made!) I wanted to wait a while before submitting a review, just to make sure my daughter was still satisfied and happy with it. And she definitely is! Love this furniture very sturdy and durable and looks great. Wood accents are very nice. Headboard height is shorter than stated, it still looks good but thought it would be taller. Also, assembly is very complex, suggests 2 people I did it alone and it took me 6 hours. Instructions are not the easiest to follow and there are so many pieces. Everything fit well except one corner of the bed however it has double support so it’s still very sturdy. The storage area and drawer are bigger than expected. Overall very pleased but was a lot to haul upstairs and assemble.

We haven’t slept in it yet, but it is together and beautiful! It is not cheap which I was worried about. It is sturdy and beautiful. It took time to put together, but if you are someone you know can assemble…highly recommend!

Where to start? If I could have given it half a star I would. First we ordered the wrong size and they would not take it back. When it was delivered the delivery people dropped it outside my door and left quick. The weight of the 2 boxes required 2 people to move them inside at least. Once inside, don't think for one minute that you want to put this on a second floor. It took 3 people to carry all the pieces up to a second floor. Six and a half hours later and 3 people we had it put together. It says not to use a power tools putting it together. You go with that and it will take you 9 hours to put it together. You have to use glue to put the dowels in. Many, many dowels. You may want to use a large piece of cardboard to work on as you will be turning and repositioning the piece you are working on. We had such a problem getting the drawers together with the rails. We spent another hour adjusting them to try and slide the draws in. It looks terrible. So we ended up taking the draws out, unscrewing the rails, taking them out and just sliding wicker baskets in there. The front of the draws had scrapes in the color anyway. If we ever sell our house either the bed stays with the house or it goes out the window because I'm not even going to try and get it down the stairs. Never again.
