  • IT WORKS GREAT EVEN WITH PUBLIC LIGHT!!! Not a waste of money
I live In Virginia and I bought these bulbs because I work normally at nights driving on deliveries, so my visibility has to be totally clear. I have a Saturn Ion 3 2006 sports model, which uses a 9007 Bulbs but before decide to buy these bulbs I spend over 2 hours on internet checking for the best bulbs, because I decided if I was going to invest some money I always want to invest in the best, so on that way they will worth for long time, but not always the most expensive prices are always the best, so for decide myself to buy these bulbs I was checking over many sites on internet with customer reviews and comments about other similar bulbs on model 9007 but there is other bulbs similar to these Sylvania SilverStar Ultra, and those are the PIAA Xtreme white plus 9007. I checked over the internet and those PIAA bulbs are a lot more expensive than these Sylvania 9007 bulbs, plus there is no difference between PIAA and SYLVANIA, so don't waste your money on PIAA if you will have the same quality and the same performance at lower cost with SYLVANIA. I bought these SYLVANIA bulbs and I got WOOOW!!!! these bulbs are GREAT. My experience: Is winter here in Virginia and pretty much 3 or 4 days ago just snow in here so as you may imagine, normally on the streets you may find some holes and snow all over the streets, plus, because of my job, which is night deliveries, I need light by night specially. I normally drive on roads with public light, I didn't have the opportunity to drive on a non lighted road yet, but let me tell you these. When I changed the bulbs on my Saturn, First I changed the passenger side bulb and I left the driver side bulb on. (I changed them at night) and after change that, I turn on the lights to see the difference and I got.. WOOOW!!!! there is some difference over there, so it was noticeable the difference between bulbs, so then I changed the other one. Now even on roads with public light, I can see now. The roads are clear, light of the bulbs are good, excellent and it doesn't cost you a fortune. If you buy these bulbs, just test them changing one of the bulbs and leaving the old one on, then turn on the lights and you will see the difference. Try to do this at night so then you can notice the difference. As I said before, even on roads with public light you can notice the difference. Before buying these bulbs, my old bulbs seem to be as I was riding with a couple of candles instead of bulbs, now is like changed the candles and put some real halogens on my car. Lol. The roads are very bright now, and as I said even with roads with public light you can see the difference, otherwise for you to test the visibility, go into somewhere with your old bulbs and try to see how far and how wide you can see, then come back to the same spot with your new bulbs and you will see there is a very nice difference on it. I do recommend these bulbs and by the way I don't use glasses and I am a guy in their 34 years old, so I am not an old guy that maybe people might think I have some sight problems. Lol. I recommend these bulbs because they don't cost you a fortune and they are good. they work for what you pay. ... show more

  • Great Lights! (With one downside)
I have a 2006 Ford Taurus. Overall, I enjoy these lights. I had the standard lights on my Ford Taurus and they were yellow, dim, and very short range. These have a very bright white color on high beams, low beams they are a yellowish white. The high beams have insane range and decent brightness. The only huge disadvantage with these lightbulbs however is the fact that they don't last very long, expect them to die in a year or two or atleast start dimming, this is due to them being more powerful. After a month of having them I noticed no performance decrease and they work well. Also make sure when to install them, do not touch the glass or use gloves because finger oils can decrease performance and life. Well worth the $35.00. I'm now easier to see, I can see further, and I'm not afraid to night drive. If you can afford it, HIDs and LEDs are even better and last longer but require a more complicated install process. ... show more

  • Great value, great brightness
PROS: Great value, great brightness, and impressive longevity CONS: Not as blue as advertised, high-beams aren't too much brighter than normal usage I purchased these over a year ago for my Ford Ranger and I gotta say, I'm quite impressed. My old bulbs simply weren't cutting it and I decided to upgrade, on a budget however. I'm not familiar with pricing on headlamp bulbs, but I decided to jump the gun with this one and give these babies a whirl. And let me tell you, I am beyond impressed at their performance. They are VERY bright, but not bright enough to annoy whoever is driving in front of you. Although Sylvania advertises them as having that HID-like blue tint, they do not, unfortunately. On the bright side though (pun intended), they are almost perfectly white, giving you a perfectly adequate view of the road ahead of you, even in rainy weather. In fact, my only complaint would have to be that activating the high-beams isn't technically 'brighter' than the normal lights. Rather than utilizing both filaments when high beams are switched on, only the opposite filament is used, illuminating everything from the street signs to the sky, but only part of the road below. If you toggle the high beams, however, you'll notice both filaments being used and more than enough brightness to see everything in front of you like it's broad daylight. Overall, I think these bulbs have superb value and I won't stop using them anytime soon. ... show more

  • Not bright, but brighter, and white
First of all, American cars mostly using low wattage light bulbs (which is good cause most misadjusted lights don't bother you that much) and power supplied through the headlight switch. Therefore, lights are not really "bright". Also, if you have old or worn headlight, the best bulbs won't make a difference. I used these bulbs in a '99 Marquis, except for the lights to appear much whiter; we did not notice any difference in brightness. Lights and reflectors were in great shape. At the same time we put them into a '99 Intrepid, and wow, what a difference! First off all: The headlight color is white. This is even more dramatic at a clear night, when sitting next to a car without these bulbs. Second: They are slightly brighter. Don't believe any of the ads telling you that you can suddenly see 100 feet further, this is impossible due to legality as you would blind oncoming traffic. But the beam is wider; you have a bigger "spot of light" in front of you. Third: During rain, I found that these lights provide a sharper contrast between the falling rain (clear raindrops) and other objects. The beam of light on the road seems to be "crisper". End of story: I think they are worth it. ... show more
