The media could not be loaded. These expandable suitcases are lightweight. I love how each luggage expands up to 2 inches. The round zippers are for enlarging the bags. Moreover, they nest inside each other like nesting dolls and save space. The wheels spin very well and glide around so easily. The handles also slide up easily and lock into place smoothly. They have feet to place them down on their sides. The handles are flat and flexible. My only gripe is that these do not have built-in TSA locks. I was expecting locks at this price. Overall, these feel like they're durable and flexible at the same time.

Luggage these days just isn't built like they used to. My grandparents had those behemoth suitcases – heavy, thick plastic that seemed to last a lifetime. Mine? They seem to self-destruct after a few measly trips. This year alone, the baggage claim gods claimed three victims – all thanks to rough handling. One poor suitcase, a full 50-pound behemoth, met its demise when a rogue handler (I can only imagine) hoisted it by a single wheel. Let's just say the wheel resembled a broken limb upon arrival. Needless to say, durability is at the top of my priority list these days. Enter the SwissGear Waderlust Pro Hardside Luggage set. Heavy? Well, heavier than many, but will it withstand the gorillas that roam the baggage claim landscape? The jury's still out. Here's the thing – this three-piece set is built like a tank. It's heavier, sure, but that weight inspires a sense of confidence. However, having seen the carnage firsthand, I'm not entirely convinced it can't be defeated by sheer force. One feature I really appreciate is the expandable compartments. A couple of extra inches can be a lifesaver when those souvenir-induced packing sprees hit. It's been a while since I've owned luggage with this feature, and let me tell you, it's a welcome addition. The hardware on this set is top-notch. Everything – zippers, latches, handles – is securely sewn in, radiating an air of built-to-last quality. The wheels and handles seem equally robust. I have no qualms about their ability to handle the rigors of travel. The plastic itself feels substantial – heavier than most suitcases on the market, I'd wager. But therein lies my hesitation. Standard 2 - 2.5 inch wheel covers won't work here. They'll simply fall off. There are adhesive tread covers available, but their effectiveness is debatable. Just remember, standard wheel covers are a no-go. Overall, the SwissGear Waderlust Pro Hardside Luggage set earns a solid 4-star rating.
