I purchased this backpack for hauling my tools around town for work. I carry around a decent selection of tools and hardware for assembling furniture and mounting TV’s/artwork/mirrors, etc. The backpack is heavy duty, and stands up well on it’s own due to the reinforced molded bottom shell section. Every other backpack I’ve tried tends to slump over depending on the contents inside, so it’s nice to not have that problem anymore. There is plenty of room inside for my cordless drill and two battery packs, a full size hammer, drill bit case, deep well socket set, stud finders, screw driver set, plastic organizer for screws and anchors, Allen wrench set, small notebook, and lots more. There is a wide variety of pockets and loops for storing virtually any tool you could want to carry with you. Two outer side pockets, including one with a drawstring make for great water bottle storage. I sometimes even bring a 24” spirit level with me and cinch that in the side pocket, and it has never once fallen out. The only downsides to the backpack that I’ve found in using it the last couple months are: 1. The overall weight of the bag. - I’m getting used to it, but the extra couple pounds of weight vs the other backpacks I’ve used is surprisingly noticeable. 2. The rigid molded lower section of the backpack which helps it maintain its shape and stand up on its own doesn’t feel great against my lower back when carrying it for long periods. 3. The front pocket section has a lot of loops which would be perfect for pens/pencils/drill bits/etc…except none of them are open on the bottom. I’m not sure if it’s just a manufacturing defect in the backpack I got, or if it’s an actual design choice, but it just doesn’t work as intended. You should be able to slot all of the above mentioned items in the front pouch for easy access, and it just doesn’t work the way they have it. -All in all I’m loving the backpack and I can’t imagine going back to what I’ve used previously. ... show more

My boyfriend works in instrumentation or electric something or other, I'm not sure. But he carries a laptop and tools around everywhere and was SSOOO excited to get this bag. It fit everything he needed in it and in a well-organized way. He fell in love instantly. After his first day of taking it to work, he left it in his truck when he got back to the apartment. His truck was broken into and the bag and all his tools and the laptop were stolen. That was the first time it ever happened to him. The media could not be loaded. I haven’t loaded it up with my gear yet, but initially it appears to be a well-made, rugged bag with lots of big pockets. The bag was made in China so it seemed a bit odd to find a Mexican 10-peso coin inside, a sticky one, at that. God knows what a lab test would reveal, but I hope it’s just conchas residue from the previous owner. Of course, this raises another issue: it was supposed to be new, not used. The other weird thing, as someone else pointed out, is these shallow elastic pockets. However, looking more closely at the promotional images, it seems they are for screwdriver bits and, maybe, sockets sets…or coins. Since the coin suggests the bag is a return, it loses a star. ... show more

This book bag is heavy duty and the shell around the bottom may have saved my son's life! While walking home from school, my 14-year-old was hit by a student driver. My son is fine and only had a fractured foot. But if he had rolled under the car it would have been much worse. The rigidness of this book bag against the car may have helped him to keep standing when the car ran over his foot. As a tech worker who routinely needs a variety of testing equipment and tools this bag organizes what I need very well. After reading other reviews I can confirm that the zipper, especially the one that closes the padded laptop section, will open if you leave both zippers closed at the top of the bag. If you have them closed on the side, however, it does stay closed. I originally purchased the medium sized version of this backpack, but quickly returned it when I could not organize all of my tools. The small tool organizer compartment (front section) is meant for sockets and the organizing material is sewn shut on the bottom. I would prefer it was open on the bottom so that I could use it for pens, pencils, highlighters, etc. Overall, I am pleased with the backpack and look forward to using it for many years. ... show more

I've had this for a while and I loved that it stood UPRIGHT and holds a lot (including a nice pocket for my Apple mouse) BUT over the last months, multiple zippers have snapped off as I tried to seal it up. The pull tab just gave way on THREE DIFF ZIPPERS. that's pretty crappy for something for this amount of $$$. ... show more
