Years ago we got a full set of cloth luggage - light but not too durable. Next set was hard side - built like tanks but when airlines started taking the weights and carry-on limits seriously they were too heavy. Since then it's been a piece at a time as needed with mostly poor results (wheels jam, handles break, hardside cracks). This carry on size spinner strikes a good balance of weight and durability. The sides are stiff but flexible, plenty of give and I don't think susceptible to punching through if filled up. The wheels move easily and the handle seems good. I have traveled both internationally and domestically a lot. So, I have boarded planes like 737, 777, 787 and A320 too. This 19 inch Swissgear suitcase will fit all size requirements for carry on luggages. The inner space/compartment design is good. It can expand the thickness by an extra 2 inches if needed, so I can fit everything I used to pack in my old carry on suitcase into this smaller/lighter weight suitcase. It weighs in at 5 pounds, but it was built strong, and the wheels turn 360 degrees easily and smoothly. Also, the two-tone color appearance stands out among other luggage so there is little worry that your suitcase gets mistaken by someone else as theirs. The only complaint I have with this suitcase is the extendable handle, which felt really loose and weak, especially at full length. ... show more

I love the size of this bag - it is a size up from my go to suitcase which is needed for someone like me who tends to overpack. Although Amazon sent the wrong color, I love the design and capacity of this bag. It is also surprisingly lightweight. However, because it is so light, it also feels flimsy. I have another bag that feels similar and it hasn't held up well, so I fear the same here. For now, I'll just enjoy the extra space and nice design and cross my fingers that the lightweight nature of this bag doesn't mean issues with durability. ... show more

If you are prone to over packing and are compelled to travel with a Carry-On only, you will absolutely love this suitcase. I stuffed it with enough cloths to last me a month, including two pairs of dress shoes and I still had room more. Having had issues with Carry-On suitcases in the past, I looked this suitcase over thoroughly and here are some very good features: 1) It has a lot more space than your typical carry-on suitcase, especially because of the extra two to three inches of expansion; 2) It is very lightweight at 6.5lbs, The 360 roller wheels seem to be very solid and look like they will hold up over time. The stitching of the robber hinge over the zipper is very well done. It looks like it's even double stitched, which I really like; 3) the mixed color of the top and bottom cases should make it standout and easy to spot on the carousel at the airport. the few things I did not appreciate about this suitcase are: 1) The telescopic handle feels very flimsy, and I am concerned will not last long. In fact, it was even jamming even though I have not traveled with it yet; 2) there is no loop handle on the side, so you can only carry it vertically. That will make it more difficult to lift and place in an airplane's overhead compartment; 3) the wobbly telescopic handle is hard to maneuver on carpeted surfaces. This should not be too big a deal as most airports have smooth hard flooring. I rated this suitcase a three out of five primarily because of the flimsy telescopic handle. Based on my experience traveling, this is a crucial feature of any carry-on suitcase. ... show more

    • Great capacity, color, and features, but not the quality I expected from Swiss Gear

First off, I didn't receive the correct color or size, and it was slightly damaged in one area, so I'll have to take off 2 stars for that. I did however like the color they sent, as it's not one I've seen before, and the size is larger too; which is not a big deal, but I prefer the small size due to being more compact. As far as the quality, it was a little disappointed; as it felt flimsy and cheap. To be fair, even with a little bump or drop, a good piece of luggage shouldn't have had the damage this one did. It will work though, and I do like the green color I received, so I will make do with it. I will give it 3 stars since it's functional and stylish, but I do wish I'd have gotten the right one in better shape. ... show more

Needed a new carry-on for short trips and this 19" spinner from SwissGear fit the bill perfectly. The color combo is unique with different colors on both side of the luggage. If I ever need to check in this luggage (voluntarily or involuntarily due to lack of onboard space), it would be really easy to spot it on the conveyor belt. One side has a zippered closure that covers the entire shell, while the other side has two V straps that meet in the middle to keep the content secure and organized. The telescopic motion of the handle is smooth, and the luggage is very easy to maneuver with the 4 wheels on each corner. One added benefit that our current carry-on didn't have is the expandable nature of this one. Opening the zipper all the way gives an extra inch or two space to pack even more items. If you're in the market for a hard case, quality carry-on luggage, give this one a try! ... show more

Looks just like the pictures, For the price i think this luggage is a great option, spacious, im always overpacking for my trips so i love that it’s expandable, the handle doesn’t feel fragile or that could be easily broken, i love the wheel is super easy to move it around.
