I got this suitcase in the medium size right before leaving for a trip to Italy. I was there 13 days and rolled it behind/beside me to 5 different cities using public transportation (trains and buses) and lots and lots of walking on their uneven and cobbled streets. I had absolutely no problems!! It also held up well to the 3 flights it took to get there and the 2 flights coming back. Very happy with my purchase.

Purchased two of these suitcases and one broke after first use. Had to contact Swissgear to file a warranty request, because it had passed Amazon’s timeframe for a return. Hopefully, the replacement won’t have the same issue(s).

I specifically ordered this because it advertised height to be 18” from wheels to handle. It measures 21”, which is as tall as the one I currently have. I’ve found that 21” is to tall for some air carriers unless I turn the bag sideways. An 18” bag would be perfect for my needs. This bag is unfortunately 21”. I’m contemplating returning it. Bought the 18 inch carry on, be warned, unlike what’s shown in some of the product pics and diagrams, it has NO side handle. Aside from the top handle, the bottom has a little flap (also not a handle) that you can fit your fingers in to grab - a poor man’s handle i guess, better than nothing. I bought the 18 inch carry on to avoid needing to gate check my larger 22 inch victorinox carry-on. On some smaller aircraft, that one does not fit in the top bin of the airplane, and they’ll gate check it. In fact, this happened to my traveling companion who had a 22” roller, while i was allowed to bring this on-board (it was a united flight - smaller plane). Also flew on delta and jetblue with this, no issues fitting into carry-on top bin, i had it filled to the max, pretty much bulging out (packed using compression cubes). The handle seems a bit flimsy, jiggles quite a bit, and worst of all the locking mechanism for the different heights of the handle is inconsistent - sometimes it gets stuck and won’t extend more than the first level, but sometimes it does - annoying but whatever. Roller wheels are great, very smooth, nice 360 action. The material on the sides seem a bit thin, so i question its longevity and durability. But, i don’t travel too much, so it’s fine for the occasional trip.

I bought this SwiftGear 4010 suitcase as I hoped it would be light weight and hold all of my clothes for a week. It fit all my requirements. After packing, it held all of my clothes, and I was able to lift it since that is a major problem for me. It has extra pockets and it is expandable as well as being softside. It has strdy zippers and it can be easily locked if need be. It maneuvered easily. This is the first time I have used a SwiftGear product. I would recommend this product.
