The item I ordered was as described and just what I was looking for, the quality is superb! Initially I was discouraged having received two orders back to back that were damaged in shipment. The third order was the charm! Item arrived undamaged even though the box was demolished. I believe it is a contest among shipping companies to see how badly they can damage something before delivering it to the customer. I feel bad for the vendor because they sent out a perfect item, not their fault the shipping company destroyed it. I can't say enough good about the vendor and about Amazon for making it right.

I was looking for an affordable shower base that was made of Fiberglas, not plastic. The plastic ones have “give” that allow you to bounce up and down slightly in the shower, like in some of the cheaper hotel showers. This Swiss Madison shower base was exactly what I was looking for. It’s made of sturdy fiberglass, has a beautiful glossy white finish, and the bottom has a slight bumpy surface to give you some grip when standing or getting in and out of the shower. Best of all, it’s a generous width compared to our old builder-grade shower from 1996. It gave us some extra room from the wall to the shower door (door was not installed yet in this video) while still being a standard 48” length, so that it fit into the original shower cubbyhole. Combined with new bathroom tile and fixtures, I feel like a millionaire in the bathroom now.

The area for the installation was tight, but the pan went in with no damage to the edges. The contrast between the white shower and black base is striking. I realize it will be harder to keep clean, but the extra work is worth it!

Swiss Madison in my opinion has the best quality, however they shipped me a damaged shower base. I believe it was a return from the packaging. The plastic wrap was found removed and thrown inside the box. It also has a significant damage. I do not recommend this seller.

The base seems to be sturdy and made of good quality! Update: After 6 months of use, this base is still holding up great! Very satisfied with this purchase.

I read the reviews about damage on arrival. I took the risk, even called ahead to see if they improved packaging. Nice shower base but it came with cracked corners in the front that are too big to cover with tile or trim. I was issued a refund however they really could prevent this type of damage with extra foam and cardboard on the corners. Perhaps some corner reinforcement during the design process. This would save us customers time and hassle.
