I knew my little girl would LOVE this for her birthday, but I noticed all the reviews that said the toy was too top heavy to swim, so I became hesitant. I decided to show my daughter a few options and this is still the toy she wanted most for her birthday present (even after I explained it couldn't swim). So I bought it and when she opened it on her birthday, to our delight, discovered that it totally swims fine! The body is submerged while the head bobs above water as it "swims" around for about 10 seconds after each wind up. My granddaughter (4) was thrilled to get this mer-pup because Skye is her favorite character. It might perform slightly better in a wading pool than the bathtub. Tiny windup knob is challenging for small fingers and it doesn’t swim long on each windup. Wish it had a pull string instead of winding up. ... show more
