This is one of those desks that comes in a million pieces in a flat box. After removing everything from the box and starting to assemble it, I found one of the main pieces had a manufacturing defect. Amazon told me to contact the manufacturer. After a few emails and almost a month later, a replacement part finally arrived. The replacement part did not have the defect, but it also did not match the original part's design (one was rounded and the other was square). The replacement part was close enough, I installed it on the side of the desk that will be against the wall so it won't be noticeable, but I really just wanted all these loose parts out of my living room so I could finally put this thing together! Assembly is simple and can be done by one person alone, but is annoying (lots and lots of steps and the included tools are pretty terrible). You may want to wear gloves otherwise your fingers will turn black from the paint and grease. At every step, you are advised not to tighten the bolts, and that is good advice. Things don't really fit cleanly and there were a couple of places where I really had to fight it to get it to line up. Once everything was halfway-bolted, then you go back around and tighten up everything. The desk is open under the drawers, so if you were expecting to just leave the drawers out and use them as shelves, you won't be able to do that. This is a tiny desk, lightweight, I'm using it to stick against a wall and put some computer accessories on like my Wi-Fi router etc. As an actual desk it would really only be suitable for a child and a laptop. The price for this item goes up and down regularly. I paid $45 for it. For that price, despite all the hassle, it is a good value. But you get what you pay for. ... show more
