This is our 2nd of this particular pitcher. I wanted to get away from the plastic pitchers and go with a safer alternative. The handle is strong and our original one is going strong still too. I make fresh lemon water everyday and store it in our original one. I soak a lemon in water with baking soda to remove chemicals, then slice it and place it in the pitcher. Then add water. We let it "cure" overnight. We love this pitcher so much, and drink so much water I decided to get another one so we have plenty water stored in the fridge in these upcoming warmer months. The media could not be loaded. I waited to write a review until I used it a few times and also ran it through the dishwasher. I specifically only use it for tea so I can have it chilled throughout the week for London Fogs. Couple of things to notate: - since this is glass, I do a very slow warm up on the burner at a level 2.5 out of 10, to allow it to gradually warm the water. If the water is cold from the fridge then I start at low and wait until the water is at least room temp. I never allow it to get hotter than the 2.5 level- allowing just a couple small bubbles to rise, not a rolling boil. - since I want my tea cold, I wait for it to become room temp before putting it in the fridge after brewing. - I have put it in the top rack of the dishwasher, and I’ve been the only one handling it because it is glass and I do think it’s not quite thick enough for everyone. I’m very careful with things, I turn doorknobs when I close doors rather than just pulling them shut, so this pitcher is fine for myself even with a glass stovetop, glass shelves in my fridge and granite counters.. the handle doesn’t get hot and feels sturdy with a full pitcher. - I wish the lid was a thick glass with a seal rather than the metal, just personal preference I guess. Overall, this is great for me and my needs, but not great for someone that is rough and “clanks” dishes about. ... show more

Got this pitcher over a month ago. The pitcher is nice and I like it, except for these issues ... 1. The handle is very slim and feels like it might break off carrying a full pitcher 2. The lid requires lubrication from a liquid like water so it doesn't crease when put in neck 3. The lid is poorly designed so that it doesn't seal the contents from exposed air. You can't keep a perishable liquid in it and expect it will last too long. 4. The bottle cleaner is a cheap joke for glass like this The glass is beautiful, too bad the same level of craftsmanship wasn't applied to all aspects of the pitcher. ... show more
