I thought since the skates cost more than $100 they would at least fit comfortably. I read the reviews prior to buying. One reviewer said they just needed to be broken in so I went head and bought them, but when I say the hardness is unbearable after a while of skating on them. They rub against the ankle and knuckle of big toe rubs against it bad. Idk if I can fight the pain to break them in. They’re breaking me. They skate pretty good if you can fight through the pain.

Pretty smooth and sturdy ride for a beginner. I wanted to respond to the comments about the stiff boot. It's not stiff because of bad design, it's just stiff because it's new leather. Overall the boot is very comfortable and I was surprised I had no discomfort or blistering on my first ride.

I did my first ride in these finally and while I know they need time to 'break in', they are just so super uncomfortable. Very tight and chafing at the ankles. I added some moleskin padding inside which helped a little. The rigidity of these also forces parts to dig into your foot/leg. Compared to my sister who got a different brand with much more banding inside and around the opening at calf. Too late to return these, but I may try and resell them and buy the same kind my sister has (Moxi, I think?)
