Like most people, I purchased these to build a piece of furniture and was very happy with them. They're exactly the same as what you'd buy in the plumbing section of Home Depot, but less expensive. All black pipes have a greasy coating on them upon purchase that will rub off and mark surfaces, but the coating on these seemed a bit lighter than what I've bought at Home Depot, which was nice. To use for projects, I hit it with some sandpaper or steel wool and a coat of matte-black spray paint (be sure to tape off the threads if you do this). I can't speak to the pipes' efficacy in plumbing applications, but as far as I can tell they are near identical to pipes available in plumbing departments, so in theory, they should work well. ... show more

I ordered 2 of the 10 packs. I was sent two pieces (rather than 20). Requested replacement - was sent 2 AGAIN. Was told another replacement could be sent but it would take 5 days. I cancelled the order.

I'm using this Everflow NPBL1212-4 Steel nipple pipe, 1/2" x 12" in a propane piping system for my cabin. The pipe is schedule 40 thickness and the threads are properly machined with tapered threads. I've had no problems with leaks. It's a good product.

Something like this is hard to review. I mean....it's a pipe. So, I'll say the obvious, the threads all worked, it was black like I needed it to be, and somehow I was able to buy it on Amazon and have it shipped to my front door and STILL be cheaper than buying it at Home Depot. These pipe nipples are unfinished. The entire thread spiral is razor sharp, and hasn’t been deburred. Many of them have shards of metal still attached from the tread cutting process. Otherwise, they’re fine.
