I like how the shock mount has a plate above and below the tie rod on each wheel end, which interlock and capture and support the top and bottom of the shock bolts, rather than some others that have a floating stud supported only at one end. Instructions were on the light side, but installation was straightforward once I realized that they meant it in the instructions that you have to remove the wire retainer on the tie rods. I had a mental block on this as I did not want to remove them, but once I did the plates fit in place making a nice strong sandwich around the tie rod. Don't worry, with the plates clamped in place there is no way the tie rod will rotate -- effectively replaces the wire retainer. Clearance from tie rod to the lower diff plate was tight indeed on my stock height F-250 FX4, but there was space. The Bilstein 5100s are part number 33-170794, and I appreciate that mine came with the dust boots (was not expecting this, as the pictures do not show them)... a nice plus! ... show more

I just installed this at 40K miles on my 2020 2-inch lifted Platinum F250. Why on earth I didn't do this earlier is beyond me. Took me about an hour to install, and what an improvement in the steering! I feel my 35-inch tires were wearing out the steering components (twice now I've replaced the tire rod ends and bushings), and I am thinking this upgrade should help those recurring costly repairs. This setup completely absorbs bump-steer and flighty steering issues. Ultimately by better controlling these “events” while driving, you’ll effectively reduce the wear and tear placed on front-end steering components which will in turn reduce the wear and tear on your tires. Missing u bolts. Seems like a common problem with these kits. Contacted customer service and they will send replacements. Kits appears to be well made but won't know how it works until all the parts arrive.

I have a 2020 F250 6.7, my first death wobble occurred at 30k miles at hwy speeds. I could not find any bad suspension points so I replaced all 4 shocks with bilstein 5100s. For the next 20k miles I had maybe 5 more death wobble incidents which are quite worrisome. I then purchased a Rough Country N3 steering stabilizer but the parts were so poorly manufactured that I could not even get it installed w/o modifications I was not willing to put the labor in to complete. I then purchased this stabilizer and it is a much better manufactured product, all u-bolts and parts lined up perfectly for install. Took maybe 45min to complete. After testing the stabilizer I have been unable to initiate the death wobble. I know of a couple of expansion joints on the hwy that I could always force a death wobble and this stabilizer did not allow a wobble. Would recommend this product for any heavy diesel truck. ... show more

Huge difference in road tracking, no more constant little back and forth steering wheel adjustments while driving. My observations on install: 1) the shocks are close to the steering linkages which is normal, but be mindful of any bolts protruding into the new equipment… either rotate the cuffs if you can or cut off the extended part of the bolts (that’s what I did with an angle grinder). 2) You have the option of removing the steering dampener or leaving it there, I left mine installed (I upgraded it from factory to Bilstein about a year ago. 3) The install is very easy, but pay attention that you install the brackets toward the middle side of the outer tie rod ends. It says “inside” the square block on the tie rod, and there’s a grove in that block…it’s not in there, you want to put it toward the middle of the vehicle “inside” in the outer tie rods (one of my pics shows this better than I’m describing). I’m not a mechanic, like a lot of DIYers, my degree comes from YouTube and the desire to be self sufficient… you can do this. Oh, and I had the “death wobble” one time and that’s all it took for me to install heavy duty sway bars, the upgraded steering dampener and now this kit… but it really does make the drive so much smoother, tracks the road better and going over bridges and passing semi trucks is no longer a steering wheel exercise—it tracks straight… and bonus, it looks pretty cool, have had a few people notice and say it looks great. We are so happy with this dual stabilizer kit. It was a very easy installation and I believe that it is much better built than some of the others since the stabilizers have support brackets both top and bottom so there is no flex where the others are only supported on one side. Another great factor is that this kit works whether stock or lifted. But above all else our truck had a real problem with the death wobble when hitting bumps and now that is resolved! ... show more

This is a well made kit for installing the dual stabilizers on a Ford Super duty. The install was pretty straight forward. You just need to get everything in place first before you start the final tightening on anything. You'll need to make little adjustments in particular to the outside braces. Once tightened up it holds well and does the job. Time will tell how long the Bilsteins last. ... show more
