These have sturdy metal frames. The outlet and USB port are a nice add-on. But you get what you pay for. They're not the highest quality. The wood pieces are made out particle board with a thin faux-wood overlay. One of the top panels slipped off the frame while I was attempting to get the screws lined up, and the corner chipped (see photo.) This suggest that they may not look that nice a year from now. But they'll get the job done. And the price is right. In addition to the charging port, another nice detail are the feet. They come with 4 feet on the bottom that are screwed into the frame, and can be adjusted to keep it from wobbling. Important, because they were pretty wobbly when I first finished the assembly. But once I adjusted the height of a couple of the feet they were perfect. Assembly was easy enough and the instructions were very clear. An hex wrench with a Phillips on one end is included, along with extra screws. Give yourself a little time and a clear workspace so you don't damage any of the pieces in the process.

The fact that these have an outlet in them is a game changer. These C-tables are essential to my teenager's lifestyle. Now they can sit on the couch (because it's not like there's a perfectly good dining table, island counter, or desks in their rooms) and eat, do work, and most importantly, charge their precious phones. Aren't teenagers grand?
