This does a good job. I had a really thick one forever and was trying to find one to replace it. It’s not as think as my old one from ten years ago I think from JCPenney but it does a good job. No smell and only shrunk half inch. Very comfy and soft. The aqua is a pretty blue color. I would def buy this again and I am picky. Did not unravel in the wash. I bought a Large size based on the measurements and other’s reviews but the robe turned out to be way way too big so am returning it. The robe was also really heavy in weight and uncomfortable for me. The material seemed to be good quality but it also had a very strong chemical smell. I assume it may shrink a bit if I were to wash it (to remove the chemical smell), but it is so oversized that it seems not possible to shrink down to a size that would fit me. Based on the Large size, the robe would probably would fit a tall wide shouldered and thick bodied man quite nicely. For my female form, it was very unflattering, and the belt hit me in the completely wrong place. The entire arm hole and sleeve were gigantic. My current size in most clothing is large, and I went off the measurements in the description, which is why I ordered it in that size. ... show more

Got the large as a gift for my 5'8", 190ish brother. He seems to really like it! It was a good size except on the long side, so I suggested putting it in the dryer since it's cotton. It shrank a surprising amount! It's now the perfect length, but the sleeves are a bit short. Suggestion: err on the side of too big if you need to, then shrink carefully in your dryer, checking often. Once it's a good size, line dry from then on (you'll want to anyway since it's so thick). Someone bought this housecoat for me as a gift and I love it so much that I purchased two more for myself (one to use when the other is in the wash and the third housecoat is packed away incase something happens to one of my two main house coats - seriously- that is how much I love them!) This housecoat is so warm and cozy! If you like the size of the housecoat when you receive it I would suggest washing it with fabric softener and hanging it to dry. It can be scratchy if you don't use fabric softener during the wash cycle. I put one of mine in the dryer and it shrunk - A LOT. I'm 5'1 and 170 lbs. and the small fits nicely (as does the medium of you like your housecoat to be slightly roomier.) I would describe the salmon as more of a burnt orange than salmon. Disappointing - I wanted to love this, but after only a few washes, one of the sash loops came undone and the sash itself started to unravel.
