I love "Battle 64" mode so much!!! I used to play the Nintendo Online version before it went dark. I may or may not venture a little further into the other modes eventually, but "Battle 64" is the best. It feels intense, but is so simple. Why all the bad reviews? This game is a lot of fun. I like it much better than the first SBMR game. Instead of gaining temporary power-ups (that are lost after losing a life), you gradually earn awesome, permanent power-ups by collecting 'coins' in-game. The Ellons are adorable, cute, and very wise. Great music, dialogue, checkpoints (very good, and makes gameplay easier and less painful) and OK boss battles. I've almost finished the 'first world' in the game. Only 4 stars, because I'd like scarier boss battles, as well as Bomberman Mecha games (similar to Goemon Impact robot from the SFC "Ganbare Goemon" games) with playable Mecha robots, where you attack bosses from the mecha's window, but in 3D. Also want to play all the SFC Ganbare Goemon games and "Japan Exclusive" Bomberman games here in America. Huge Konami lover here, lifelong Bomberman fan since I was twelve. I especially enjoy single player/story mode games, or with one other player. ... show more

While Super Bomberman R2 is a decent game overall, and a pretty fun time for the local multiplayer alone, the $50 price tag is a bit too high for what you are getting out of it. The story mode is boring, long-winded, and monotonous. The online multiplayer is dragged down by a forced online rotation system, which can result in players having to wait hours just to play specific modes they are actually interested in, combined with the lack of public lobbies to join without using codes. Add to how the player base is quite small, even at launch, the fact that a percentage of this game's content was taken from a very similar free-to-play title, and a bunch of other small issues I can't get into, it's best to wait for good price drop or sale before giving it a shot. Hopefully things will get better down the road, but until then, this isn't a game I'm going to being playing online much, if at all. ... show more
