What I like is how this has changed my cloudy water issues. My work has been sending me out of town a lot the last few months. At first when I would get back home. My walls were covered with algae and water was not sparkling. The only thing I changed was adding this device. Now when I get home my water has stayed sparkling with very minimal algae on the wall. I have now reduced my tablet by one tablet since my chlorine has been higher than normal. If chlorine reduction keeps up, this thing may pay for itself. If I have one dislike, it would be the weekly cleaning of the copper rod. As I have read, if the copper rod has a lot of stuff on it. It means it’s working. ... show more

We bought this for our pool because it was highly recommended on a website about pools. It’s supposed to help keep the pool algae free. I have to say we have not had any algae yet. But why the Solar top? Plus what is the black stuff that comes out of it when you take it out of the water? We clean it every week as recommended with the brush that it came with. ... show more

I have a 33000 gallon pool on well water. It was really a battle. I ordered this hoping it would help stabilize all the issues I had with chlorine and ph. I am very pleased! I will admit after the first day I checked it and it needed to be cleaned. After scrubbing the deposits off of the inner workings, I checked my pool numbers and things had changed. After a month I noticed I had to turn my chlorine down quite a bit. So that is a plus. I would say well worth the money! Note: clean the deposits in the grass not on cement. Bought the first one and had it in my pool for 2 days. It appears to be working but noticed that water is leaking into the solar compartment. Had selller sent a replacement and the second Ionizer also filled with water in the solar compartment. Don’t know if is normal that the design leaks of water???? ... show more

I took a gamble on the pool ionizer to help address the algae problem I was having in my pool. Living in Southern California, I had algae growing on my pool walls and bottom despite having the correct chlorine balance. I had to brush the walls about twice a week. Once I introduced the ionizer, I was surprised to see that I had very minimal algae growth - a little, but maybe only 5% of what I would normally be getting. After one week, the ionizer seemed to be eliminating most of the algae in the pool. So, consider me impressed. I cleaned it at one week and it clearly was shedding copper into the pool. Hopefully, this will continue. Addendum- after one month. This is still working crazy well. Algae is very limited - I usually have to spend about 10 minutes once a week brushing some minor algae spots. I've reduced my chlorine tab use by half. I got a surprise when I accidentally overfilled the pool. Within a few hours, some algae that were growing above the normal water line that was submerged due to the overfilling - were gone! Cleaning the copper anode should be done about every 7- 10 days. Disassemble the unit and be thorough - a clean anode is much more effective. The only question is how long it will last until I have to replace the anode. 2nd Addendum - after 3 months - still very impressed. This unit has reduced my time spent on pool maintenance (in the summer) by 95%! Occasionally I have to brush a few algae spots around the pool, but this is extremely limited compared to before the ionizer. Based on the rate of loss of copper, it appears the anode will last for 7-8 months - it's been three so far and it's still about 75% of its original size. Well worth it. No problems with copper deposits or green pool. I am using the standard size unit with a 30000-gallon pool and spa. I am getting by with 1.5 3-inch chlorine tabs a week in mid-summer Amendment 10/29/2022 - I took a 3-week trip and when I returned, there was algae in the pool. So apparently the Ionizer stopped working. I contacted the company via email as it was still under warranty. They responded within a couple hours via email, and without any hesitation arranged to have a new unit sent to me from Amazon. It arrived within 2 days! No need for me to return the old unit. Again, I'm disappointed the unit failed, but the warranty replacement policy - outstanding! ... show more
