Features

  • Non Clogging, Smoother Aeration: Suntee manual lawn aerator features side-open hollow core tines that allow soil plugs to exit smoothly during use, reducing clogging and maintenance. Compared with closed-core designs, the open-side structure maintains steady performance in different soil conditions and supports continuous aeration without frequent cleaning.
  • Easier Aeration After Watering: For optimal performance, water the lawn before using this aerator lawn tool to soil. Slightly angling the core aerator when pressing into the ground can improve efficiency. Wearing boots or sturdy shoes is recommended to enhance stability and safety. These simple steps help ensure smoother operation and better results when using a manual grass aerator.
  • Adjustable Height & Less Bending: The adjustable handle height (3941.7 in) is suggested for adults approximately 5461, helping reduce bending and back strain during use. A non-slip, comfortable grip paired with a reinforced foot pedal allows better control. This yard aerator is designed for upright use, improving efficiency and comfort during extended lawn aeration tasks.
  • Thickened Steel Tube: The lawn aerator is built with reinforced steel tubing that resists bending, ensuring long-lasting durability even during repeated use. The 4 hollow core tines are crafted from 1.5mm thick stainless steel, providing strong penetration into soil without rusting. This combination makes the lawn aerator tool suitable for long-term use in regular lawn maintenance.
  • Easy Assembly with Clear Instructions: It's designed for quick assembly with all required hardware included. The package comes with screws, nuts, and installation tools, along with a clear, easy-to-follow instruction manual. No special equipment is requiredassembly is completed by connecting just 4 screws. Simple assembly allows you to focus more on lawn care and less on preparation.
  • Improves Soil Health and Grass Growth: Regular use of this grass aerator helps relieve soil compaction, allowing air, water, and nutrients to reach grass roots more effectively. By removing compacted soil cores, the core aerator improves drainage, reduces water pooling, and supports stronger root development. The lawn aerator promotes healthier, greener grass without relying on powered equipment.
  • Ideal for Small to Medium Lawns: Designed for homeowners and hobby gardeners, this manual plug aerator is ideal for small to medium-sized lawns and routine maintenance. It suits users who prefer hands-on lawn care and controlled manual operation. This lawn aerator tool is perfect for families seeking a practical solution for everyday lawn health improvement.

It’s a little labor intensive and best to have a well watered lawn. I use in high foot traffic areas . Some stubborn plugs can easily be removed with the seperate “sod tool” which comes with it. The tool pulls 4 good plugs at a time. I got the silver one , it is well made and a good tool.

  • Ehh... Okay I guess
Color: Green
I was expecting more narrow cores - tool gave me blisters with gloves - electronic version of something like this would be better.

  • Worthless!!!
Color: Green
If it were possible to give this product NO STAR I would do so. It promised a lot and delivered nothing. It will be returned to Amazon. I have used hand aerators for at least 30 years. This is by far the worst of the several I've owned. I thoroughly watered my lawn. My two core hand aerator worked fine. I could easily make cores of about 4 plus inches! I tried this product and I could not get it penetrate into the ground more than an inch and half to two inches. And it did eject cores well. I tried it in different spots but it was a NO GO in all of them. In turf it would hardly cut into the ground at all. I weigh 210 pounds so it is not a weight issue. The edges of the core tings are NOT sharpened. The core tings are NOT machined and are poorly constructed. Apart from the core tings, the most important part of an hand aerator, the construction is good. There might be some soil types, such as mostly sand, where it might work. With machined core tings I would think it would have possibilities. As is it is just simply frustration. Thank you for listening. ... show more

  • Very sturdy construction Very sturdy construction
Color: Green
This is a very thick metal tool, which is good because aerating by hand/foot like this is not easy. You have to put all your weight on it, and if your dirt is muddy or hard, wiggle it back and forth to get it to sink in. This type of e of aerator takes little plugs out of the lawn, unlike solid tine aerator, which are easier to use, but don't get as much nutrients and air into the soil. I like this also because they made it tall enough to use without having to hunch over if you're tall - - a non-starter if you're going to be performing the same movement over and over dozens, if not hundreds of times. It also come with a hand weed tool which can double as a tool to clean the dirt plugs out of the tool when you're done. Another nice thing is the tools that come with the bolts for assembly. The nut wrench is hefty and not the typical sheet metal wrench they usually give with these things. ... show more

  • Was hoping for better
Color: Green
I like but don't love this tool . It doesn't work as good as I was hoping because it doesn't cut through the Zoysia grass as easily as the tool that I'm replacing it with , which is a Core Lawn Aerator version 4 . However this tool is built pretty damn hefty & the fact that the plate that the tines are mounted to is removable . The times need to be sharper which I'll do with a Dremel tool & grinding bit . Plus the way the bolts protrude from the handle can & have caused some pain to my hands by banging against them . I'll end up changing the bolts to a flatter head bolt & different / flatter nut . With this being a single pole tool , trying to put all my weight on it to drive the times home isn't as good as a double handle aerator . A little practice is needed here . Ti's not all bad though . The plugs which are much larger than the other aerator which ejects those plugs through the top & can be captured in a removable pan . This tool make ejecting the plugs much easier . Plus the fact that the handle can be height adjusted is a great idea . I'm 5'6" & 73 Y.O. & have it set at the highest position which is too high . Plus just in time for St. Patrick's Day the color is appropriate . I just had a big ole thought bubble that didn't burst & came up with a somewhat possibly better idea than replacing the bolts on this handle . An idea about removing the tine plate off of this one & mounting it to the other aerator would create an 8 tine aerator that the user would be able to utilize their entire weight on . In the event that 8 tines are too much , the original 4 tines can be removed . A reinvention of the wheel , so to speak . ... show more

  • Did not work on clay soil
Color: Green
This did not even penetrate my soil! I tried it in multiple spots around my yard and it would not even break through the bare ground or grass. I live in upstate SC, so the soil does have a lot of clay. It may work better in climates where the soil is soft and moist. It was easy to put together and seemed to be sturdy quality. Just didn’t work for my lawn. ... show more

  • A Must Have for a Small Yard- Allows Better Water Penetration for a Healthy Lawn! A Must Have for a Small Yard- Allows Better Water Penetration for a Healthy Lawn!
Color: Green
I recently picked up the Sunset Lawn Aerator, and I'm confident it will make for a healthier lawn this Spring and Summer. If you’ve struggled with manual aerators in the past, this one addresses the biggest headache: clogging. I normally wouldn't have tried this until May, but we have had an unseasonably warm winter in Colorado which has allowed me to try out this aerator in March. The Highlights: Side-Open Core Tines: This is the best feature by far. The design allows the dirt plugs to exit smoothly every time. I didn't have to stop once to poke out stuck dirt with a screwdriver, which saved a ton of time. Customizable Comfort: The adjustable handle height is a thoughtful touch. It’s easy to find a setting that doesn't leave your back aching after 20 minutes of work. Smart Technique: I followed the tip to angle the tool slightly while pushing, and it definitely makes it much easier to penetrate the turf compared to just pushing straight down. Top Tips for Success: Water is Your Friend: You absolutely want the ground to be thoroughly watered—either from a good rain or a long session with the sprinklers—before you start. If the ground is dry and baked, you’re going to have a hard time. Know Your Limits: This is perfect for small lawns or specific high-traffic patches. If you have a massive property, do yourself a favor and rent a power aerator. But for a standard small yard, this is the ideal tool. Some small assembly required as you can see in the first picture. Overall, this is a sturdy, well-designed piece of equipment that does exactly what it promises. The tines are stainless steel which should make the tool last for a long time. ... show more
