The media could not be loaded. Please read this to help with installation and address some of the one star reviews. This is a good quality bookshelf, certainly a solid notch above the entry-level bookshelves. The shelves are nice and heavy and strong to support heavier books without sagging over time. Even though there are two sections to this, once installed, it is very sturdy. It came in good packaging. It’s a heavy package but easy to open and then carry pieces to where you want to set-up. Installation was quick and easy and straightforward (except for one step, see below). The installation manual is simple but not very detailed, and I’ve read some of the one star reviews complaining about the holes being too big. This is because the “three-in-one” connectors are not being installed properly. You need to screw these connectors in with a screwdriver, which then expands the plastic pieces to fit the hole snugly and securely (similar to a plastic drywall anchor). You do not need super glue or gorilla glue as some people have mentioned. Please see the video for this in action. I hope this helps others out there with the proper installation of this bookshelf. Once installed properly, this bookshelf is sturdy and solid. For the money and where this product sits in the price-performance spectrum, this is a good value bookshelf. ... show more

Seems well built and both bookcase look great. Since I assembled these and put them in my office, my hair has grown completely back, my love life improved, my IQ rose 25 points and my credit score went way up !, So I would definitely recommend.

I've put together dozens of bookcases, and found this one impossible. The two-section idea doesn't work if the cam assemblies don't hold. I finally had to leave it until I find time to reinforce it with wood screws, and I still don't know how secure the top part is going to be. Of course, by the time I got to this point, it was completely unpacked, so in no shape to repack and return. I deeply regret this purchase. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Update: So I decided to use super glue like I’ve seen others use and that does work to keep the connector screws in! The down side still is that it doesn’t stay together well (like pieces can still come out if you try to tip or move this thing) and even after taking the bottoms off, it wiggles if you touch it. Thankfully, we don’t have earthquakes where I live so I’m sure it won’t tip over unless on purpose. It does have the shelf space I was looking for, but for the price I was expecting better quality than a Walmart bookshelf. :/ —— I’ve been trying to find a bookshelf to replace my old black one in the office, I was pretty excited considering I was going for a bookshelf not from Walmart. This is one of the worst products I've bought on Amazon. The separate parts look nice enough, and seem to be solidly made. But that's where the positives end. It was a nightmare to put together. Not because the directions were very hard to follow, but because the connectors don't stay connected. As you are putting it together, and trying to align different pieces, they start to come separated. So everything is coming apart as you are assembling it, making one side fall apart as you are working on another. The directions state not to tighten everything until it's basically put together, so I thought that might be the issue. But when I tightened the "screws", that didn't make a difference. I would have returned it, but the process of trying to put all of it back in the box and return it was daunting, especially since everything is so heavy. I also need very specific dimensions to fit in a corner, which are hard to find. I finally managed to get it upright against a wall, very loosely assembled. The only things holding it together are the weight of the books and the fact that it is propped against a wall. And there is still a gap between the middle shelf and the top part of the bookcase, so it looks cheap too. I've had similar pieces in the past from Ikea and Target, for a fraction of the cost, and never had such problems. Extremely disappointing! ... show more

Was very pleased with the bookshelf. It is very sturdy and of good quality. Had very specific space constraints and it fit exactly into the space. Pkg was heavy so had to bring it inside in pieces but testimony to the quality and weight of the product!

I've had a lot of this type of do-it-yourself furniture and this is by far the heaviest and sturdiest piece I've ever had. On top of that, assembly was super easy and took less than an hour by myself. Highly recommended. I will say, however, that the box was almost completely destroyed when it arrived. The styrofoam was all shattered on one end and the box was actually open. By some miracle, nothing was missing and nothing was damaged except for one tiny dent on that backside of one of the side pieces that isn't visible since it's up against the wall. It seems that one of the best qualities of the bookshelf is it's downfall in shipping. I'm pretty sure the weight of it is why the box was so destroyed. ... show more

Had to put it together in a very small room. I worked very slowly and made sure I understood what each diagram was telling me before assembling. You do need to use your screw driver to expand some of the screws once in place in their designated hole. This is important because it will fall apart if you do not. Thankfully I watched another customer's video explaining this before I started working on it. The instructions do not really guide verbally. It's more of a follow the picture thing. This really made no difference to me. I mostly just looked at the shelf and thought out where things should logically go. It took me about 2 hours. It wasn't particularly hard once you figured out the pattern. I had to take a little extra time because I am legally blind. Seemed pretty sturdy once fully assembled. I like it. The only complaint is that it is crazy heavy. ... show more
