We used it to cook chicken at the campsite. They were yummy. It is sturdy, held a dozen chicken legs and 4 good size things. Make sure to bring oven mitts, you will need them to hold the chain getting the chicken off. Easy clean up, since we sprayed it with Pam before cooking.

    • Simple set up, solid results
This was my first time using a tripod set up over an open fire. The set up was super simple, despite there being no directions. The 22 inch grate was big enough for 3 racks of baby back ribs. Burgers or other items that need attention, my be a bit more difficult with a swinging grate. I wrapped the seasoned ribs in heavy duty foil, and let them "swing" over a maintained fire for 3-4 hours. I then finished them by taking the unwrapped ribs, sauced them, and placed them back on the grate directly over the fire. Gave them some nice smoke and sticky bark.     • Very usable, but...
It's a pretty decent grill, but I would really recommend replacing the hooks on the chains with some kind of metal clip. Otherwise the hooks tend to slide around or fall out, dumping your stuff on the ground 😞

Assembles and disassembles easily. Seems pretty sturdy. The only thing was that I had to add some chain to get closer to fire.

    • Needs help
No easy way to raise or lower...had to jerry rig a pully, chain and bolts onto one of the legs to be able to adjust heighth of grill. Otherwise, love it.

    • Poorly constructed.
It is made very poorly. The top piece that the poles sit in is made with very flimsy metal (?) plated poorly tac welded. One of the bolts was full of melted plastic and my husband had to chase the threads to fix it. One of the poles was bent a lot and had to be straightened and there are not plugs for the pipes so the don't fill with dirt or scratch whatever you put it on. I am sure after my husband welds on actual metal plate on the tripod top and makes plugs for the pipe it will be useable. I should have spent more money for a different one.
