This past March, while traveling in California, I visited one of my placer gold prospecting locations in Southern California. Since this area has been untouched by weekend prospectors for at least the past 15 years, I was fortunate to find evidence of lode gold (gold bearing rocks) right on top of the ground! Because I couldn't carry much away, I put a few rocks in my pockets for later investigation. A few days later, after returning home, I used this rock crusher to see just how rich these small rocks were. Candidly, I was astonished at the ease of use. The rocks I brought back fit into the barrel; and using the plunger was a snap. I crushed the rocks I had, poured out the residue into a gold pan for panning. The rocks were rich enough that I now wish I had brought back a lot more than I did! This rock crusher will be used a lot more in the coming weeks as I plan a different trip to a gold panning location in Colorado. For those who are curious about what might be inside those smaller rocks, this crusher will easily provide the answer.

Ads for this item falsely claim that it will crush aluminum cans. This is false. 12 oz cans will not even fit into the cylinder. Otherwise this item works as promised. It is well made and crushes rocks into dust with a bit of elbow grease. No amount of strength will get you a crushed can however. The crushed can pictured on the item is a complete lie.

This this sucks. Even with a sledgehammer, which of course will completely deform the handle this rock crusher. Hardly does any damage to the rocks/quartz whatsoever absolutely not impressed
