Purchased this to replace bar on an older mountain bike. Wanted two things. More comfortable upright riding position, and multiple hand positions. This handle bar is like older conventional road bike bars. It has a sweeping smooth arc from the center until it straightens out, and the bar ends change angles a bit. It is a bit wider than some. Also sweeps back a bit further than some. Almost perfect for my needs. The flat ends are plenty long, so the mountain bike shifter/brakes had plenty of room to fit. If anything, I could probably saw off 1.5-2 inches on each end with enough room for my needs. I taped the bars rather than use grips. I can sit almost upright gripping it in the normal end position for such a bar. I can lean forward just a bit gripping the bar near the end of the central arc. This middle position isn't too far from a swept back mountain type handlebar. Or I can lean forward more gripping it comfortably near the center which is good into headwinds. Gives me three good, useful, comfortable hand positions. The bar isn't too heavy, but is plenty sturdy and well finished.

These cruiser bars are just the correct width for my comfort. I have converted a Hybrid Schwinn into a cruiser style bike with 21 speeds. These bars complement the look that I was after, and did I say they were comfortable? Oh yea, I did... My only qualm is that they scratch pretty easy but not a problem I gave them a couple more coats of Flat Black spray paint before I mounted them. The 1" center with grooves works perfect for my goose neck I can now ride in an upright position that spares the normal back pain associated with that hunched over Mtn, or Hybrid bar position. I would recommend these bars to others and I have.

bought for a budget project, and it fit the bill in every manner except that you simply cannot lock it down into place with the head clamp; the chrome finished metal is just too soft and the leverage on such long bars has them easily rotating out of place; another reviewer warned of this but I went with it anyway because of price; this project was not a critical build and won't see much use, so no real issue with me; would recommend something higher quality if you need this component on a daily rider

These things are SAH-WEET. i feel kinda bad though, they are so wide that i take up 7/8's of the sidewalk now. Some poor kid on a skateboard couldnt fit on the sidewalk heading the opposite direction on my first ride out with these thangs, BUT besides that they are GRRRRRREAT! lol they come back nice and far for when you wanna ride upright and if you work the brake/gear shifters into the right spot you will have enough space to grip it toward the front for that more sleek look. i am in a season of VERSATILITY and i am looking for that which is able to adapt to function in multiple ways. THESE are super sweet and nice and wide, just like how johnny likes! =D have fun and God Bless!

Nice, solid, beautiful chrome. Just what the doctor ordered... now I can ride sitting upright, longer and with much more pleasure. Who has aluminum or carbon fiber bike with beach cruiser handlebars.. me that's who. I got there 7/8 to fit the brake/gear levers but the neck was too small for the gooseneck so I had to get shims... the thicker the better.

I already had the longest goose neck I could find at the highest it could go, and I still needed the handlebars a bit higher so I could ride sitting upright. These handlebars had the perfect rise for me. Even better, I don’t have to worry about hitting my knees anymore on a tight turn.
