The sunlite/kenda tires are great for little boys to ride their bikes (and girls) on. The price is fair (about $10 each). These have a wired bead running thru the tire’s edges so please use a couple of tire levers to seed (or pop) your tires on properly. The wire beads do add weight to the tires which is fine, but it would be nice if the 14” and 16” tires were lighter weight tires…..these are little legs that are trying to get the bike rolling. I ordered a few of these tires because each tire is going to last about one riding season (late March to late November) before losing that knobby tread. The smoother “city street” tread is fine for the 12” bicycles since most likely, your son or daughter on the 12” bike is still using their training wheels and doing a lot of their riding on the sidewalks and pavement. I chose the knobby tread (comp III tread for you BMX riders) for the 14” and 16” bikes because once the training wheels are removed, my boys are going to start exploring dirt, grass and anywhere their legs can pedal them on. Also the other reason I ordered a few spares is that eventually your kids are going to discover hitting the brakes and skidding. Just like you did when you were a kid, this is going to wear out your tires much faster. If you’re concerned about flats for your youngster once they start riding their bikes everywhere: I also ordered the kenda/pyramid/sunlite thorn resistance tubes. I’ve been using the Bontrager TR 700c tubes in my Trek racing bike forever. I love them. Basically, the tubes are twice as thick on the side of the tube that faces the inside of the tire which adds a little more protection against flats…..not flat free, but certainly does add a little more protection. I don’t recommend any of the tubes that have “slime” in them…..too messy…..too heavy. When I got into BMX racing around age 9, I also used the Mr. Tuffy tire liners on my Skyway Aero bike…..highly recommend the Mr. Tuffy tire liners too because they work great, but unfortunately, Mr. Tuffy tire liners don’t come stock in smaller size than 20”. You can still use them, but you’ll have to cut the 20” Mr. Tuffy tire liners, but make sure to cut them so that there is about a 2” overlap. For your kids that seem to be getting a lot of flats, (a) get a good idea of the terrain they’re riding on, (b) start with the thorn resistance tubes and then (c) add the Mr. Tuffy Liners……also try using some rim tape too. Rim tape is a sticky, heavy cotton tape that you wrap against the rim. There is a hole in the cotton tape to put over the corresponding hole where the tube stem pushes thru. The rim tape helps protect against flats that are caused by the spokes and the holes in the rim that the spokes are inserted thru.

Perfect BMX tire! and its not shipped folded in a small box like other vendors do on Amazon which damages the tire and makes it useless! had to return a few that were folded but this seller ships in a full size box!! Update I purchased another that was shipped folded but seller refunded me so all is good I'd still buy these again.

The tires are nice and work excellent on the bike. However they are made with a series of substances that could cause cancer. So try to keep them away from the kids and animals until you can get them on the bike. I tried to handle them as little as possible.

I am very happy I was able to find these tires on Amazon! I went to every bike store and back-yard bike fixers I could find within a 30 mile radius.... this included all the bike shops in my state's capital, which is known for it's bike enthusiasts! I COULD NOT FIND this size tire!! I was flabbergasted! We had purchased a Cinderella bike for my daughter for her third birthday and we just couldn't find the tires to finish fixing it up. Well! I found this tire and purchased 2 of them hoping they would be the right fit since it was my only option - especially in white. I just have to say these tires made my daughter's birthday! She was SOOO excited and yelled "my bike! my bike!" They looked like they came with the bike, brand new, white tires... oh it was great seeing her so happy and it was worth every penny to give her that bike. Now, we haven't had her riding her bike a lot yet because she is only 3, but they have held up the whole summer without any punctures or deflation.

I put these tires on a small kids bike, and it was pretty easy to get install them. They weren't too loose, so when you brake the tire won't slide forward, and they weren't too tight as to make it terribly difficult to install. I have had no problems with them thus far, and would definitely purchase them again.

For those looking for a tire to put tread on a Power Wheels Jeep or whatever, I'll confirm this tire is a perfect fit. Once you cut the sidewalls off, you can slide this onto the plastic wheel in one piece (with a little bit of effort, nothing extreme) No lateral cuts across the tread required. I can also confirm you will need to secure it to the wheel somehow to prevent it sliding off the side. I considered a glue like Shoe Goo but the kid wouldn't wait for that to cure and it'd be a huge mess. I did use 6 smallish screws with wide heads on each wheel. The kid can pop wheelies now that he's got traction!
