I wanted enough room for supplies, but without being huge and bulky (or too heavy). This little backpack met all of these requirements. It is deceptively roomy! As pictured, I am able to put 2 hats, a headband, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, large rain poncho, and several Ziploc pouches full of supplies inside -- with lots of room to spare for extra water bottles, a light jacket, etc. The outer mesh pockets fit a standard size 500 mL water bottle well (and securely). The picture with 2 water bottles in the pockets is of the backpack fully loaded. I use the front zip pocket for snacks. It's not very big, but will fit a couple of granola bars and some trail mix. It would also work for a smart phone. The shoulder straps adjust easily. The chest strap is snug, but works. The waist strap, however, is way too short to be functional on a normal sized adult. Both me (5'4") and my husband (6'0") find the backpack comfortable to carry for several hours. Pictures of both of us wearing it are included for size reference. The outer fabric feels durable and the zippers function well. It is water resistant, but would probably get wet in a heavy rainstorm. The inner fabric lining is a little flimsy, and I wonder if the small zip pocket inside the main compartment will rip over time. The two inner slip pockets could be wider/deeper (you'd probably struggle to get a smart phone into one of them), but sunglasses fit just fine. I wish it had some daisy chain webbing loops on the exterior for attaching extra gear. We have used this on 5 or 6 day hikes so far, with no rips, tears, etc, but I can see how it might start to fall apart with daily/heavy use. It doesn't feel like a lifetime backpack, but I don't expect most merchandise to last forever these days. Overall, I would not hesitate to buy this backpack again. It has made hiking much more enjoyable for me.

Nice, small, lightweight backpack, suitable for a quick day trip, day hike, or carrying supplies for an informal meeting, trip to the library, etc. Good number of pockets. I like that it has a chest strap, which many small packs don't have. Would also make a good backpack for a kid. I don't know how durable it will be, since I've only had it 5 or 6 months, but it's nice to have something smaller than my bigger backpack and more versatile than my messenger bag.

This is a very well-crafted backpack. Double zippers, everything is stitched well. It seems sturdy and the colors are wonderful. I just received mine in the fun aqua-blue color, and am buying two more for my daughters. (Color choose is awesome!) It’s a great size for day hikes, travel, or to use in place of a purse heading to a cafe or on a walk. I am female, 5’6”, 130, and I do strength training (so, my back is a bit wider than average..). The chest strap extends fully to fit me, but would not fit most males. The waist strap fits perfectly with no extra room. The backpack can fit an iPad Pro (12”) but in the main area of the large section, not in what looks like the designated spot for it in the back of that section. That works. My 20 ounce water bottle fits on the sides but it’s lop-sided and a bit wobbly. I carry it inside the bag. A smaller water bottle would fit better. Suggested improvements: 1) make the front pocket fit the size phone that people use nowadays. An iPhone 14 needs to go in the middle pocket and is less accessible that way. 2) provide a small strap in the interior of the pack (either section is fine) for a carabiner clip / key ring! This is so so important. There are really no areas in the pack to secure your keys, and if you’re on a hike or road trip, losing keys would be a major disaster. 3) make the small interior zipper pocket 50% bigger. It just barely fits my tiny wallet, and definitely would not fit a typical man’s wallet or more than a few cards. Overall, love this backpack, but definitely know your uses and know the size limitations.

Great small backpack. I use it to commute to work, I needed a small packback because whatever size I carry always ends up filled with stuff, and I wanted to limit myself. But you can still pack a lot of stuff in the main compartment. The second pocket is suprisingly big too, the outer pocket not so much. Two side pouches for water bottle and umbrella. Always will fit under the seat of an airplane and easy to carry around at your destination. So far no rips, no zipper malfunctions, and it's been a few years and thousands of miles. Also, I now see that although I bought three of these, I can't write more than one review. So, I liked the first one so much that I bought two more, because it usually only takes me a few years to wear one out, usually breaking a strap because I carry it on only one shoulder. All 3 are still in service, I rotate through them. This pack seems flimsy but is tough, I wouldn't try to use it long-term under extreme conditions but for everyday use it is great. AND another edit just to say I have about 5 of these now, I use them for everything. Don't one has ever ripped or had a zipper break or anything. I have to imagine one day they will die, probably after I do.

I purchased this backpack for a trip overseas - wanted something small and easy to carry with an injured shoulder. The padding on the straps was just right and the ability to lock the chest strap took additional stress off of my shoulders. The two doubled zippered outer pockets provide plenty of room and have ties attached to the pulls and there is enough of the cord to tie them in a knot- or perhaps just a half-hitch. This was VERY useful, since I was traveling alone in Amsterdam, which has a horrible problem with pickpockets. The only pocket which is vulnerable to theft, is the diagonal single zip pocket - which I never kept anything in - which is a good thing, since a man did try to pick it open. The pack was small enough, that I was able to feel his attempt (or perhaps he was not up on his game that day!) There is an interior zippered pocket (in the larger of the compartments) that is large enough for a passport. The side pockets were large enough to accommodate my camelback insulated bottle (was a little hard to do when the bag is packed to capacity, but there are two loops - one on the top, one of the bottom that I could clip it to). I am a cyclist and think this pack will work well for times I want to bring a change of clothes or other things that won't fit in the back pockets of my jersey. POSSIBLE CON: although small, it exceeds the size for most museums to allow you to bring through exhibits (even if you wear it face forward), so you must use a locker to stow it (most museums have them for free). I did not bring a purse on this trip, so this was a slight inconvenience, but since it was cold, I had a zipper pocket jacket that I could safely place my cash etc in before putting the pack in a locker. Had it been summer, this would have been more problematic, since I wasn't aware of daypack restrictions at most museums. 2 Years later: I still love this pack and it is still going strong with absolutely no failures of zippers, straps or any components. It has now travelled to the Netherlands, Norway, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand and on many US adventures. 8 years later: it’s still trekking along and has added several new countries and summer camp adventures. Just now seeing a little wear on the lining- but not surprised with how much abuse this thing has endured. I will definitely order another one and hope it is made as well as this one.

This has become my go-to pack when leaving the house, especially for hikes. It's comfortable and the amount of space is perfect for me. I love how adjustable it is, it always rests comfortably no matter what I shove inside. So far, it seems pretty durable, I've noticed no fraying or ripping anywhere despite overfilling it a few times. Because of the size, it always fits snugly in small spaces, it would be great for traveling. My only issue with it is specific to me, I like to bring drawing supplies with me wherever I go, and the three little pockets inside of the middle section of the bag are a little too high to be practical for holding pencils/pens, but it's not a huge problem and I always make it work. Overall, I love this bag and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a small, durable, and comfortable bag for pretty much any activity. I would absolutely buy this again, as long as it holds up for longer than it has so far :)

This is exactly what I was looking for! Yes, it is small, but quite mighty! It can fit my 24 oz long water bottle in the side pockets easily, plus you can secure it with the side straps. I haven't tried, but it could also fit a 32 oz water bottle in the two side pockets. It has ample space to put things inside that you might need for an overnight trip, day trips, hiking or biking adventures. I primarily bought this for traveling. It has a main compartment for bigger items, and a smaller front compartment for smaller items. I have an Osprey backpack, but it is not very functional for my use. It's too big and long and curves in the back to allow ventilation. This one does not curve, and is half the size of my Osprey, which I love! It is super lightweight and seems to be sturdy and well-made. I would definitely recommend this for someone small that can carry something small on different occasions. For reference I am a 5.0" tall female and this backpack looks just right on me.

I bought 2 of these packs back in 2016. We used these as day packs when on vacations in national parks or other outdoor adventures. Perfect. Small pack and lightweight. But enough to put basics in and it had various compartments and zippers. These were used maybe less than 10 days a year over these past 6 years. Then, suddenly , the straps just tore on both packs within a few weeks this year ... 2022. The strap material ( at least as it was built in 2016 and probably still today) is not a quality material. I presume sun and air just broke down the weak material. They were not abused, or dropped in water, or left in sun ... accept when walking with them on. So not a pack for use on a regular basis . But for a few days a year you will have a nice lightweight , fun colored pack, for maybe a couple years. Maybe at this low cost that is OK to replace every few years. Just disappointed the manufacturer did a great job in everything else, then put cheap material on the most important part of a backpack ... the straps!! If you fix that part, it would be 5 stars.
