Better optics and styles than gas station glasses, but not stupidly expensive like designer pairs. There's actually not a lot of quality difference between, say Oakleys and these, and most sunglasses are made by just a couple companies, oversees, and mark up prices depending entirely on marketing and brand. I've relied on Sun Cloud for 15 years. The hit the right quality/price ratio for me. If I take modest amount of care, I get 3-5 years out of them before the inevitable scratches begin to bother me. Face shape dictates, but the Sentry looks good on me. I like brown tint, though this particular model has a greenish mirror but its still atop a brown lens I believe. Out of the Box (by box I mean incredibly small bag and paper shipping envelope), they are absolutely exquisite. The lenses are clear, crisp and perform well above their price point. Time will tell, but so far, so good.

I bought a pair of Suncloud sunglasses on vacation (out of necessity). I liked them enough that when it was time to retire them, I turned to the brand again. While I guess it's fairly obvious that sunglasses are probably best purchased in person, I figured that it would be easy enough to just buy a pair online. The problem was that the Suncloud no longer sells the model that I'd previously had, so I evaluated pictures on Amazon and made a choice. The glasses themselves are fine. The frames appear to be well made, and the lenses are appropriately polarized. The glasses are handsome enough, but I'm just a little put off by the tinting of the lenses. My previous glasses had tinting that was a little on the cooler side, by color temperature (slightly bluish), while this pair of glasses is much warmer. That wouldn't be a big deal, but it is pretty pronounced - it's almost like applying a sepia filter when I first put them on. ... show more
