For the color be light and pale they block the sun and still great in my room. They’re also thick and long without too much weight so they hold up well.

I’ll say, when you have a tween “vamp kid” daughter. Blackout curtains with a little Pizzaz are a must. We used to be into Barbies but after Hotel Transylvania 3, things started to take a turn. Barbie began having to sleep in the garage during the day and our daughter refused to let us open the doors during daylight hours. One by one all those little barbies, even Chelsea, had their hair mysteriously turn black, their perfectly toned skin whitened, and dark circles formed under their eyes. Then one night I noticed that there were drained 1lb packages of beef strewn across the floor and 3 of the Barbies surrounding the empty bags with Chelsea, known now as Dark Raven by our 9 yr old, in the middle. Eventually our blonde headed daughter began evading sunlight and sticking to the shadows. She then said that she “was born in the dark, molded by it” (which is not true because she was during the day). Either way, she requested these colorful blackout curtains for her “lair” as she calls it. Really do the job of “preserving her night spirit”. Pretty sure it’s just a phase. Got one to see how it well it does at blocking out light. It doesn’t…at all. You’re better off taking a thin bolt of cloth off the shelf of Walmart and putting loops on either end. Which is basically what they did here. The size is good and the color is nice but that’s about it. If you just want some curtains, go for it but if you want a true black out curtain look elsewhere. ... show more
