Compared to real dupioni silk, these curtains look quite convincing. In daylight, they are a true medium gold shade while at night they look slightly more brassy with a subtle green undertone (my photo shows them in the artificial evening light). High marks for style, especially at this price point. Light blocking is 80%-90% depending on how much sunlight you get. They are advertized as "Total Blackout" but that's not the case on a bright day. However, that's typical for curtains advertized as "total blackout". I got them for a space that gets lots of direct sunlight that makes it impossible to watch TV, and they do reduce it enough to be able to see the TV screen. I also appreciated that they steam out pretty well despite being blackout. In the past, I've returned blackout curtains that were impossible to steam out due to stiff material on the front and an even stiffer blackout layer on the back. ... show more

Quality curtains for a princess! This is going to sound so silly but, we bought these curtains to replace my daughter’s previous blackout curtains that had bows at the top. The previous curtains let in light that caused shadows and my daughter thought the curtains were birds and was terrified to sleep alone! Therefore, these curtains not only kept out the light they kept out the nightmares! The curtain's gave my 5 year old the confidence to sleep alone again and her parents a restful night sleep. I purchased the Pearl White shade of these curtains, and while they are beautiful, they have a very cool-toned white that leans more toward gray due to the dark backing. Depending on the lighting, they can even appear silver or platinum. That said, I’m thoroughly impressed with the quality and the blackout effectiveness. These are by far the best white blackout curtains I’ve come across. Most blackout white curtains fail to block light effectively. However, the dark backing, on these curtains, does alter the color, making them less suitable for my space. My home features neutral tones gray, greige, taupe, and various shades of white, but these curtains didn’t blend well with the overall aesthetic. If your decor leans toward cooler tones or if another color option suits your palette, I highly recommend these curtains. They are well made. They are not heavy and stiff like some other blackout curtains I've tried. Unfortunately, they just weren’t the right fit for my home. ... show more

Very much black out!!!! Only thing I disliked is that I didn't realize it only came with one individual curtain instead of two. I would have never spent $30 on 1 individual curtain but definitely great quality!

    • Be Careful About Buying Subsequent Sets -- colors may not match.
I first bought these drapes in 2022 and they were perfect! Just the right shade of blush pink, a nice cotton lining -- looked very elegant. A bonafide 5 rating. Three years later, I decided to put drapes on the other side of the room and reordered them. The colors do not match -- the new drapes are duskier, and with a mauve undertone. I was so disappointed -- but, I was kind of stuck because if I replaced them, the new ones would also be in the same (wrong) color. The drapes themselves were fine, but I the color difference will nag at me until I can afford to replace drapes in the whole room so that everything is consistent. Ah well. . . ... show more
