I bought this seagull paint-by-number kit on a whim, and I’m so glad I did. The group of seagulls on pillars in the water is simple but fun. My favorite detail is one little seagull turning his head to look right at you. It adds such a cheeky, fun vibe to the whole piece! The colors were vibrant. The lines were clear, and most numbers were easy to read, which made it a really relaxing way to unwind at night. It turned out beautifully and now hangs in my guest room. Great gift idea, too, especially for anyone who loves the beach or just wants a creative way to de-stress. Just be warned: once you finish one, you’ll want to order another!

I think this will be my favorite painting the expression on the seagull face is priceless. I painted the gulls the colors they suggested but didn’t like it so I dry brushed white over them and they look great. Not just me that thinks so everyone who looks at it loves it. Made a few adjustments to their feet and beaks and the land in the background and it’s really coming together. Back after I framed, what I had to do was paint the curved side of stretcher frame and thumb tack canvas along smooth side on back, then I trimmed the little extra canvas around edges. It looks great and no one can tell my trick to frame it. Put a small bar on back to catch hanger on wall.

Product is described as a 16x20 item. I purchased this with the understanding that the PAINTING was 16x20. Turns out, it's the CANVAS that's 16x20. The actual painting is 13x16. Very disappointed. Bought another painting and 2 frames at the same time to make a grouping, but now it won't work because this item is too small.

If anyone writes and says this was fun and ez to do is lieing! Sure, if you have proper lighting and a magnifier! Granted, my eyes are 76 years old, but the markings on this and the "cheat sheet" are quite faint. I did start with a different, supposedly better brushes but soon changed to the brushes provided. The brushes provided seemed easier to used in the small spaces and there are lots of small spaces! The canvas and sheet may have been rolled at one point in time, but were put in a rectangular box which caused waves in them. I rolled the canvas the other way then laid flat to try and get the waves out. I quickly gave up, for now, since I do need better lighting and believe a magnifier will really help for the small areas and fine lines. I bought this for the colors and it said "beginner" (yeah, right)! So, back to diamond art, for now, until I can find a magnifier that works for me. Will update as I progress...or not! Why did you pick this product vs others?: I liked the colors. And it said beginner...right...
