  • Takes practice!!
Definitely takes practice. Our house is around 70°, so it’s the perfect temperature for this wax. I tested an amount that is half what they suggest doing. It does hurt a little bit, especially with a smaller amount, because you put the wax on and then go over it 2 to 3 times with the plastic tool before removing the wax; the smaller amount will pull on your hairs. However, I suggest using the smaller amount at first to get the motion down with the tool and to understand the wax a little more. It definitely hurts less as you get better at the technique. I have read some of the other reviews that claim they were bruised- either they were doing it entirely wrong or their skin is extremely prone to bruising and wax probably isn’t an option of any sort. I have yet to brave the underarms but I will continue purchasing for my legs. Lastly!!! Because hair doesn’t grow back for a couple of weeks, make sure you use exfoliation, as skin will cover the areas where your hair grows back and it can be extremely itchy and annoying. Exfoliate and you won’t have issues with that or ingrown hairs. ... show more

  • Messy
I’ve tried several times now. It misses a lot on the legs, is very painful, and so messy!!! It doesn’t do well when legs hairs are short and prickly, they had to be over grown and still didn’t get everything. Works well on arms hairs but still very painful and not worth the mess it makes!

  • Aesthetician Review
Im a medical aesthetician with a background in esthetics treatments. So I’ve worked with all types of wax. Sugaring wax can be made in various of viscosities. This one in particular doesn’t need to be heated (your body temperature heats the sugar for you-faster if you run hot or low pain tolerance). This can be frustrating especially starting off. I will review certain points I believe are helpful to know as a professional or beginner. * STORAGE: This container is the worst I’ve worked with. I would definitely transfer the wax into a bigger/wider plastic container, so it doesn’t get around the edges which allows you to scoop easier, actually close the lid, and prevent spilling. Pro Tip: If you like this product and see yourself as a reoccurring customer, then I recommend getting a large glass Tupperware with a proper lid. *APPLICATION: It is similar to what you expect if you’re a pro. Pro Tip: Short pulls are your best friend. Make sure to cleanse your skin with soap and water (DRY COMPLETELY), add powder to the skin to suck up any residual moisture, and dust off. - The key to a great pull is…Firstly, Slowly Apply the wax to the OPPOSITE side of hair growth, then bring it back down to the direction of hair growth and then back to the opposite side (3 spreads total- This will ensure all hair follicles are properly covered). Now that you ended and the top point of the direction of hair growth, you want to start pulling (SMALL SECTIONS AT A TIME!). Trust me it makes a difference in pain, accuracy and consistency. - This isn’t regular wax where you can do one quick pull and it’s over, one quick pull with this wax would send you in agonizing pain (if not using waxing strips of course). Small sections is key for comfort. And unlike other waxes where you apply it with the direction of hair growth and pull opposite, this you apply it to the opposite side of hair growth and pull towards the direction of hair growth. This is why sugaring is great (rarely breaks the skin-so you can go over the same area multiple times, doesn’t break the follicles when time to pull- which helps prevent ingrown hairs). Keeping in mind regularly gently exfoliating the skin pre and post treatment will always give you the best results. You should wait a few days post treatment to begin exfoliating and stop exfoliating a day before treatment (If sensitive). *TOOLS: I typically like using my hands, because I can really push that product down. However, I tried the cards it came with and it works just as well. Just annoying to scoop up and wipe off if you need a new wax ball, since it’s shaped like a card (which to my first point is why I recommend transferring the product into another wide container). The card does force you to have to really work just a bit harder to make sure all follicles are coated, but for a beginner it’s a great way to get in the hang of “The Flick” method. If you’re slower waxer, something else to note if you enjoy both hand and card tools- card will keep your sugar cooler for longer, whereas your hand will heat it up much faster and you’ll need a new firmer ball of wax sooner than with the card tool. *PRODUCTS: The “pre and post product” it comes with is okay. Nothing to hype about. PRO & Money Saving Tip: All you really need is the card tool and wax. Pre powder can be substituted with any baby powder. The post solution can be substituted with your own body wash/skin care. It washes off easily- unlike other unnatural waxes where you should use post wax solution, to completely remove the wax. So no need to spend more on the complete kit if you have those two things at home already. Hopefully this review was helpful to at least one person. ... show more

  • Sugar Me Smooth Sugar Body Wax Kit – Review
I’ve tried a few waxing products, but Sugar Me Smooth is easily my favorite for at-home hair removal. What makes it stand out is how quick and mess-free it is—no strips, no waiting for the wax to harden. You just smear it on and flick it off with the plastic applicator. That’s it. The sugar wax has a smooth, sticky consistency that grips hair really well without feeling overly gooey. I like that it’s ready to use right out of the jar—no heating or prepping required. Just apply, flick, and move on. It definitely stings a little, especially the first few times, but honestly? It’s less painful than traditional waxing, and the discomfort fades quickly. My skin felt soft and wasn’t overly irritated after. Plus, it’s great knowing it’s made with natural ingredients and washes off easily with water. ... show more

  • Too messy and time consuming
I've been struggling to find a better hair removal product for a long time, and I guess I'm going to have to keep struggling. The sugar itself is quite difficult to get and keep in a workable state. Your skin is going to warm it up no matter what you do, and sitting in front of an air conditioner for hours doesn't sound very fun. Even when it's in that "workable" state it still leaves stragglers. When the sugar gets into that dripping state, it just gets everywhere. It still works a little I guess but I just got a glob of it in the carpet thanks to the flicking motion I've been trying to nail. I was really hoping the commercials weren't just B'Sing when they were praising themselves so much but from what I've experienced it seems like it. I'm going back to using my safety razor, because despite having to shave more often I get better, cheaper results and less of a mess. ... show more

  • Great product!
I was nervous about this and there is a learning curve to the process. Overall I think I am going to stick with it! I am still learning how to flick but I feel like I am getting use to it. Maintenance sugaring was SOOO much better than the first time when I let my hairs grow out (thinking it would be better) it felt like waxing but I think the pain didn't linger as long. Definitely give it a chance - if you are like me and have dark fast growing hair - this product allowed me almost a week of smoothness! Instead of growing back the NEXT day with shaving I would say I saw little pricklys show up maybe day 5/6. Follow the directions: It will be mess at first. If your sugar gets too warm it is NOT gonna work, it will stick to your skin. Don't use it right after a shower because then your skin is too warm. Likewise the same piece over and over is fine until it gets warm. 🚫 I hope this helps someone! ... show more

  • have patience if you're a beginner. have patience if you're a beginner.
Alright.. so I tried this on my pits first (hind sight bad idea) that was just painful.... BUT it does help to read the directions-imagine that. If you've never waxed/sugared before, have a glass of whiskey on hand and be prepared for lots of swearing... I did my arms after my failed attempt at my pits and after reading the instructions I started getting the hang of it.... you'll probably bruise at first until you get the hang of it especially when waxing with your non-dominant hand. I did try my pits again later after some practice (whiskey and swearing were still involved) but I was actually able to do it.... mostly successfully. Pay attention to the direction of hair growth... ice helps before you start... maybe to cool the skin... maybe to help with the pain, but either way.. also when doing your legs don't get over confident and start with a lot of the sugar... it started warming up too fast and thats probably why I bruised the crap out of my knee. I learned with the other leg and had a much better experience (still struggled on the knee joint but the bruising was minimal) hair is starting to grow back after maybe a week? but there's a very good chance I sugared too soon and between the beginners technique and the shorter hair there was more breakage. I may update after more practice. ... show more

  • Just doesn't work
I feel for the cute ad, but this stuff sucks. Ok, I watched all the videos, followed all the instructions, used the powder and soothing stuff, and this stuff simply does not work. It hurts like heck (maybe a bit less than waxing but not much) though really I expected that so I'm not knocking it for that. It says it takes a while to get the hang of it and you should try it a few times before deciding on it. I got the hang of it as I could see hair removed, but just not enough. I did four sessions, waiting a few days in between so my skin could recover. Never got smooth skin, like, at all. Each time I sugared my right lower leg and shaved the left. Sugaring when that small bit took 25 minutes when in the fourth attempt, so it's slow. Shaving that area on three left takes 30 seconds. I thought maybe it would be worth it if it truly removed the hair for as long as it said. Nope. Every attempt left lots of hair behind, scattered around too much to just go over a missed spot. I had to resist shaving afterwards, especially since my skin was red and irritated. Plus it's hard to clean up without sending a big glob down the drain which I felt was an iffy proposition. They have a guarantee, but between shipping and recovering between attempts, I'm writing this on day 30 so it's too late (plus the hassle and paying for return shipping....). Oh well. Lesson learned. ... show more
