  • Best water enhancer for families — natural, tasty, no junk
Flavor Name: Classic Variety Pack Size: 1.62 Fl Oz (Pack of 5)
With a busy household of 7 (myself, my wife, and 5 kids), getting everyone to drink enough water is a constant challenge. Stur has been a game-changer. The kids love it, the adults love it, and it doesn't have the artificial aftertaste of other water enhancers. The classic variety pack gives a good range of flavors so you can find what works best for your family. Naturally sweetened, high in vitamin C, and zero calories — it checks all the boxes. A little goes a long way too, so each bottle lasts a while. We've gone through multiple packs and keep coming back. Highly recommend for families looking for a healthy way to add flavor and get more water in. ... show more

  • Overall a very good option for flavoring water
I tried this item & the skinny variety pack. I'm giving it a 5 star review because in the grand scheme of things, overall this water enhancer is really very good. It's hard to find a water enhancer that doesn't have artificial sweeteners and uses stevia instead and the few others that do, I'm not all that impressed with. Everybody's taste is different but for me I have found that stevia does not give me a terrible aftertaste like artificial sweeteners (aspartame for example) or sugar-like derivatives (sucrose, sucralose, etc). Nor does Stur have added chemicals like others do. However, much like any other sweetener, artificial or sugar-based, using too much will give it a very nasty or highly sweet aftertaste. My personal feelings are that some of the negative taste reviews are because people are trying to use an enhancer (of any brand) to make water taste more like juice when that is not their purpose. They are an enhancer and not meant to replace the strong taste of juice. But that is up to the individual's taste as to the strength of the flavor. So if you're looking for a strong flavor without a nasty aftertaste, enhancers are often not for you. And some people just don't like stevia. It can be really nasty when used in excess...very, very little of it goes a long way. You usually get the same result happening with artificial sweeteners and too much sugar. I will say this though...I have tried several flavors now (I drink a lot of water) and I have enjoyed every flavor except the citrus. Like every other review I've read, it really does tweaking by the manufacturer. For me it's like trying to drink watered down very sour lemonade. This morning I added black cherry to my unsweetened iced tea and it was a wonderful change of flavor! If I must pick a favorite, so far it's a tie between the fruit punch & black cherry. I do wish though that they made an iced tea flavor in the liquid with stevia. They have it in powder form but that contains some actual sugar which I shouldn't have. I also like the fact that I can adjust how much or how little flavor that I use! Sometimes you might want just a hint of taste but other times more will suit. The liquid provides that option. Some people have commented on the price but in my experience, flavor enhancers with stevia do cost more around here & the price per bottle is on average only a few cents difference than what I've found locally. Again, water enhancers aren't meant to use a lot of at one time and I'm finding that my usage is pretty on-track to what is advertised. To make this even more of a great purchase would be to have an option to buy in the variety packs but let the consumer choose the flavors they like the most. Now that option would be a huge draw for me! ... show more

  • The Ultimate Stevia Water Smackdown
If you're reading this you're likely in my position, knowing you don't drink enough water but hoping for a sweetened alternative that isn't filled with artificial stuff like aspartame. I'll leave all the subjective debate over the taste of stevia itself to other reviews. If you're buying these products I'm going to assume you are already familiar with how stevia tastes as a sweetener compared to other sweeteners out there. The purpose of my review was to test the flavor of all the Stur and Sweet Leaf Water Drops and find the best tasting ones from the bunch. In the photos you will see that I purchased the variety pack for both brands which included a total of 11 flavors. Each flavor was added to an equal amount of cold water, 8 oz with an attempted similar squeeze to each glass of the flavor drops. This is the suggested amount for both products. Between each drink I drank regular water to try and cleanse my palette. Please keep in mind that everyone has a different idea of what tastes good. Your results may vary drastically from mine. Below are my notes. Stur Flavors Tropical O-Mango - Too artificial. The orange note is too floral. Boldy Blue Blackberry - Very mild in flavor compared to all others. Might be good for someone who wants a very subtle flavor but I found that you would have to add more of this one than the others to get the same strength. Pomegranate Cranberry - After learning how to spell pomegranate correctly... ok... this one had just an odd flavor and to me didn't evoke either fruit. Possibly more cranberry than pomegranate. This one might appeal to those looking for something with a bit of a sour note. Fruit Punch - Good. A fairly predictable flavor if you are familiar with fruit punch from other artificial drinks but this one tastes more subtle and natural. Strawberry Watermelon - The best of all the Stur flavors and the best out of all the flavors of both products. A very sweet pleasantly smooth flavor with the brightness of the strawberry hitting at first then the earthy watermelon trailing after. Sweet Leaf Water Drops Lemon Lime - Not so great. The lime left a bit of a soapy aftertaste. Mixed Berry - Very light flavor with too much floral aftertaste Peach Mango - This one had a very artificial taste. Reminded me too much of peach gummies. Raspberry Lemonade - This one was decent but would have preferred strawberry instead of raspberry. The raspberry flavor was too floral. Tropical Punch - Great. It was complex in a good way with not any strange aftertaste. The pineapple came through in a pleasant way. The best of the Sweet Leaf flavors. Strawberry Kiwi - The second best of the Sweet Leaf flavors. A great level of sweetness for the amount of drops added. The strawberry and kiwi are equally in concert here with very little stevia aftertaste and no artificial qualities. To summarize and rank the top four among both brands they are: 1st - Stur Strawberry Watermelon 2nd - Sweet Leaf Tropical Punch 3rd - Sweet Leaf Strawberry Kiwi 4th - Stur freshly Fruit Punch That's it folks. I hope you find the review helpful. Try the top four I'm sure you'll find one in the bunch that hits the right spot. ... show more

  • Much better than Mio. Read my review to find out why.
I went many years without drinking as much water as I should, but I corrected that behavior about five years ago after a bout of diverticulitis. Unfortunately, my new practice of drinking at least 100 ounces of water each and every day means that sometimes I get sick of drinking plain old water. So last year I started looking for a way to enhance the flavor of my water a bit. Enter Mio, which I decided to try when I saw it on my grocery store shelf one day. There were several flavors to choose from, and the idea of making my water taste better made Mio an easy sell. I started using it once or twice a day and continued to do so for about six months. One thing I didn't do, though, was read the label to see what the ingredients were. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. For at least a month or two prior to then, I had been having regular severe episodes of dry mouth and very badly chapped lips. I had no idea what was causing it and started to analyze what I was eating and drinking very closely. So one day I decided to look at the list of ingredients on the multiple bottles of Mio in my cabinet. To my surprise, there was one ingredient that just sounded like trouble: Propylene glycol. After water, the next most prevalent ingredient in Mio is "propylene glycol." According to Mio's website, propylene glycol "is a common additive found in many products" and "is considered by the FDA to be 'generally recognized as safe' for use in foods." While that may be true, after doing some more research online I discovered that propylene glycol is a solvent used in many pharmaceuticals, including oral, injectable, and topical formulations. It is also used in automatic brake and hydraulic fluid and industrial antifreeze. It's also found in the stuff they use to de-ice aircraft with. The Material Safety Data Sheet for propylene glycol warns users to avoid skin contact with propylene glycol as this strong skin irritant can cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage. And they want me to put this stuff in my water??? But here's the kicker: One website told me "since propylene glycol is considered a humectant (it collects moisture), your throat can become dry after use and potentially sore." Dry throat means dry mouth, and dry mouth means chapped lips. At this point, I was pretty sure I had found the cause of my chapped lips mystery, so I tossed out all the Mio I had on hand. And guess what? In a matter of days, my lips felt normal again. The chronic dryness and pain that I had endured for far too long was gone. (Interesting fact: Mio products sold in Canada do not contain propylene glycol.) A few days later, I came across Stur on the Amazon website. I was intrigued by the minimal ingredients in the product, and completely thrilled that it was all natural. So I decided to give it a shot. And boy, am I glad I did. After a couple of days with the Stur variety pack, I pretty much fell in love with all of the flavors. It's so nice to have something *natural* to add to my water when I want to mix things up a bit. And the best part? No sugar, no calories, all-natural ingredients, non-GMO, and gluten-free...and no propylene glycol!!!!! If you want an flavor enhancer for your water, steer clear of Mio and give Stur a try. It doesn't cost any more, and it comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. You really have nothing to lose, except for a somewhat suspicious chemical that is considered "generally safe" by the Food and Drug Administration. ... show more

  • Stur Review inc. Cost Analysis
Firstly, all my reviews are objective and I take the time with the product(s) before leaving any review as I want to ensure that I stay fair, objective and without bias, while at the same time capturing the elements of my experience and what I feel others would like to know. Like many others, I have mostly dropped all sodas and switched to water enhancers when I want something more than water. I'm also shunning artificial sweeteners and looking for natural products such as Monk fruit and Stevia. I had read about Stur and wanted to give it a try. Also know that when I'm at home, I usually drink a fair amount of water and much of that will be with the use of the Soda Stream, which my daugther (15) and I swear by. When I use water enhancers, I almost always do so as a carbonated drink via the Soda Stream. I ordered the (6) pack variety as I wanted to gauge all the flavors and get an idea about value, taste, etc. We had been using Mio before making the change to anything not artificial. Including shipping the price came to $28.69 or $4.78 each. Firstly, the packaging is pleasing and I do like the included flip tops. Makes it easy. I was impressed with the size of the bottle but upon further inspection, each one is only about 2/3 full so it's a little misleading. It's also about 10% less in volume than the Mio we use so size of bottle isn't really important. As I said previously, I use the Soda Stream and the 1 Liter bottle. 1 Liter is approximately 34 oz. or just over 4 of the 8 oz. servings that they mention on the bottle (each bottle of Stur they say yields 20 8 oz. drinks). With that in mind I started tasting some of the flavors. We ended up with our favorites, mine being the Strawberry Watermelon and the Orange Mango and my daughter the Pomegranate Cranberry. I burned one bottle of the Strawberry Watermelon to determine where I felt the best flavor ratio was. For me it came to just under 3 squirts, not quite a second each in my estimation. Using this ratio, I got almost exactly (3) liters of water, or roughly 102 oz. Note Stur says each package should yield (8) 20 oz. drinks. At the ideal ratio, that made each Soda Stream liter equated to about $1.60. Not cheap from a pure price level (without factoring the health benefits, etc.) With another bottle of the Strawberry I backed down the ratio to (2) squirts of the same duration. This yielded very close to (5) liters of flavored water which dropped the cost to about $0.96 per liter. Better. At this ratio, the Stur bottle will yield about 170 oz., a bit more than the the label listing. For relativity sake one liter is a decent amount of liquid and I usually split it up into two drinks, roughly 16 oz. each. If you want to break the cost down into 8 oz. servings, each liter has roughly 4.25 8 oz. servings. So with two squirts, your 8 oz. serving cost is about $0.23. Taste As far as taste goes, while (3) squirts was fine, I do find (2) acceptable, perhaps a bit weak. 2.5 squirts would yield a better flavor but I'm trying to get used to a weaker drink because I'm trying to get away from too much "sweetening" just for my own palette. The flavoring I find to be just fine. It's certainly not Mio as that is one strong enhancer, but the artificial aspect is one we're trying to get away from so we expected less potency. At a ratio that you'll find appealing, I think you'll find the flavors to be rather good. I have no issues with the taste or the 'artificial' quality of the flavor. Value My biggest issue is value which is the only reason I give Stur three stars. At approx. $0.48 per drink I'm struggling with the value proposition and having a hard time wanting to reorder. Some of the issue is the nearly $6.00 in shipping. If you have Prime or get free shipping, this lowers the cost per bottle from $4.78 to $3.83 or roughly 25%. This takes the liter charge down to $0.72 each an $0.17 per 8 oz. serving. Much better. Overall, I really like the product itself and would buy it without question considering the healthier aspects to using Stur if not for the cost. In my mind, the cost is such that it makes me question if I shouldn't just be drinking good ol' fashioned plain water. Without the shipping cost, I'm much more inclined to purchase so I may experiment with only ordering at times when shipping is free. ... show more

  • Love it!! Bought more.
Flavor Name: Classic Variety Pack Size: 1.62 Fl Oz (Pack of 5)
I really like these. 5 different flavors in the pack. What I love the most I they aren’t sickening sweet. Just a mild flavor. It’s a liquid so you can use as much or little as you like. I drink a lot of water and this makes it special. Good flavor without that strong sugar taste.

  • Overall they're all great tasting. See breakdown below
I was a little hesitant to order these since there were a couple of flavors I hadn't tried yet. But I really wanted to try the cranberry pomegranate so went ahead with the order and thankfully they were almost all good. Breakdown of the flavors, at least by what I liked. Just a note: I don't like things overly sweet or with a super strong flavor. I drink unsweetened ice tea, unless it's been brewed that way. Orange/Mango: A little too sweet for me, even when using less of the product. I prefer my orange drinks to have a little tartness. I find that the Stur orange flavors are too sweet for me. Cranberry/pomegranate: I liked it, not overly sweet. I did end up having to use a little more of the product to get a decent flavor, but not too much. Would use again. Strawberry/watermelon: Very nice light flavor. Good balance of flavors. Would use again. Fruit punch: Also a very nice balance of flavors with a little bit of tartness, just a hint. Would use again. Black and Blueberry: One of my favorites. It has a nice sweet flavor with good balance. Easy on the ratio of water to product. Would use again. I hope that this helps anyone who is looking to order these wonderful water enhancers. I love that they're all natural and no aftertaste that is present in so many of these types of water enhancers. ... show more

  • Flavorful
Flavor Name: Classic Variety Pack Size: 1.62 Fl Oz (Pack of 5)
I enjoy this liquid water enhancer, but it loses one star because the flavor profile is a high-stakes game of Russian roulette. When you get the dosage right, it is an absolute masterpiece. It makes plain tap water taste like a gourmet tropical vacation. I went from drinking zero water a day to consuming two gallons. My skin is glowing, my kidneys are singing, and I have never been more hydrated in my life. However, the margin of error on the squeeze bottle is terrifyingly slim. One microscopic drop too many, and you cross the border from "refreshing berry blend" into "liquified radioactive cough syrup." Last night, my hand slipped for half a second, and the resulting concoction was so violently sweet it gave my left eye a temporary nervous tic. It tasted like a fruit punch scratch-and-sniff sticker came to life and attacked my tastebuds. Buy it for the hydration, but you will need the precision of a brain surgeon to squirt it. ... show more
