This paper is so convenient when you don’t wanna bring out canvas to work with, it’s stiff enough and durable for you to get a good layer of paint on, even though it might seep through the back that’s only if you use too much, Turpinoid which is a given, since this is the paper. Great alternative when you’re in a rush and just wanna get one painting out. as long as you work medium to dry with your paint thinner, all should be good. ... show more

I'm taking a beginning painting class with oils, though I'm used to working with acrylics. We needed a canvas pad this size for Oil paint, but honestly this pad is much better suited for other kinds of paint. Unlike the top-of-the-line stuff she has, this didn't behave like wrapped canvas. I had a heck of a time doing my underpainting, as it seems to absorb the turpentine and the pigment rather than allowing me to sort of "push the paint around" as I had before. It was kind of a bummer, as this pad was advertised for Oil. I do want to add, though, that a coat or two of acrylic gesso made this sturdy enough for oil, so if you're looking to save money you can certainly use this stuff, just with a little prep. It was easier to do than I thought, and I didn't have to go buy a $50 replacement pad. After that, I was able to do it just fine! ... show more
