This 3-Tier Metal Shelving Unit with Adjustable (Leveling) Feet has surprised me with its overall stability. The compact size fits well in a small storage area where we keep bulk foods and other kitchen items. It easily holds a flat of six 28 oz cans of tomatoes on one shelf and a bag of 25 lbs of flour on another. I appreciate the padded leveling feet that protect our hardwood floors. With all three shelves in use, the unit remains stable with some wobbling if I shake one of the legs. The package includes fasteners that have adhesive for sticking on a wall, and holes if you prefer drilling for firmer mounting. There are also 2 long zip ties to use with the fasteners. Not fancy but they would work. The assembly instructions were a little cluttered, but provided enough guidance for me to put it together correctly on the first try. The parts were individually wrapped and labeled. It would have gone more quickly except for misaligned pre-drilled holes. My photos show how far off some of them were, but with patience I was able to make it work. It took less than half an hour start to finish. This shelving unit is certainly worth its current $20 price tag. While I'm generally satisfied with it as a functional storage solution, there are some things to know about it: - The lightweight metal frame and wire-mesh shelves are decent quality but not heavy duty at all. - There are cosmetic problems like dents, folds and other types of marks. - The unit feels to be as sturdy as advertised. - I won't be entrusting it to hold 100 pounds on each shelf, but it holds some of my heavier pantry items without any problem. - Its 30-inch tall height is low enough not to have to secure to a wall. This is a good thing because the securing hardware that came with my unit is a bit flimsy. Even with all of its imperfections, this is still a very good value for a solid 3-tier shelving unit at this price point.

Perfect compact shelving unit! I ordered this 5-tier metal shelving unit because the small footprint (12" x 18") fits perfectly into a currently wasted corner of my laundry room. The plan was to relocate many of the small appliances that are currently stored on the shelves in my pantry (crock pot, blender, mixer, waffle maker, etc..) to these shelves. Every household needs these small appliances, but they are not used on a daily basis, and they take up a LOT of valuable real estate in the pantry. For the moment though, I've decided to use it temporarily in my office. We have 3 major things going on in our home and all 3 require LOTS of paperwork and files. So, I decided to dedicate a shelf on this unit for each one. The shelf size is perfect, and all of the files are easily accessible, and the shelf unit fits perfectly. If these 3 things drag out too long, I'll just order another one of these shelves because they are so economical. This 5-tiered shelf unit was amazingly easy to assemble and took only about 15 minutes. All of the individual parts are packaged separately and CLEARLY labeled (for example: all of the "B"s are in one bag clearly labeled B), and the illustrated instructions are very clear. The matte black finish is complete and smooth on all surfaces, and all corners are smoothly finished. A really nice touch is that screw-in levels are provided for each of the "feet" to assist with stability as well as a wall anchor to prevent tipping.

I really can't get enough of metal shelving. It has so many uses. Whether you want to put some in the garage, in the kitchen, in your craft room, or in your bedroom, they really can be utilized anywhere to access vertical storage space, particularly helping to reduce clutter in small areas. In the picture I uploaded, which isn't that great and I apologize, I just wanted to demonstrate the size of the metal grate on the shelves. The grid pattern is quite wide, so it is difficult to keep smaller items from falling over. As you can see, I laid some items on their sides until I can finagle a more level surface. Upon some research, it looks like good solutions to flatten metal shelves are to use regular cabinet/shelf liners, foam board covered in contact paper, or there are shelf liners that are made specifically for metal shelving as well. They seem pretty sturdy. Some of the pieces didn't line up perfectly. As they met together on the perpendicular, there was a little bit of an overlap on a few of the cross-beam pieces. That does not diminish the durability of this shelving, but it was just a quality flaw that I noticed. They do seem like they will be able to hold a substantial amount of weight. I put an entire wooden breadbox on the top shelf at first, and it had no problem holding that. I think the price is fair for these shelves, although to make them an amazing value, I think it could be a few dollars less.
