I’ve had my eye on this Steve Madden Harlo Black Luggage Set since last Winter when I “lent” my old set to a friend, who abused the bags and they smelled like smoke, so I didn’t want them back. I’ve seen this set and/or separate pieces at higher prices elsewhere, then found it here on Amazon and put it on my Shopping list. Then COVID-19 hit, and my travel plans were cancelled so I didn’t order. Fast-forward to the end of June…With a last-minute trip scheduled, I made the purchase at such a great price with quick shipping. Now we’re ba-ack from our first trip and happy together! Here’s why: The 360-degree spinners don’t add to the height of the luggage which is all-important for carry-on bags. They also were excellent for the necessary starting and stopping at the airports to navigate the TSA maze and so many travelers over the holiday while maintaining social distancing. In addition to the sturdy, maneuverable wheels and affordable pricing, I gave this set 5 stars because: 1- I wanted a set with classic lines that would still be distinguishable from other luggage in the overhead bin and on the baggage carousel without the loud colors and styles that are so popular today. 2- The design closely matches the overnight/underseat bag from my old set. (It’s pictured with the others from last night’s arrival home.) 3- Gotta love the bag tag that refers to shoes (always admired Madden’s shoes and accessories) because I pack so many on every trip! 4- The tassels are a nice touch. I hang them from the zippers for easy opening and I don’t mix up the open/expand zippers. 5- My TSA-approved locks slide right in the zipper holes. 6- The bags stack inside each other as they arrived for minimal storage space. ***Check out the pictures for all of the above*** AND, SO IMPORTANT: I had a minor issue with one bag. I reached out to the Seller and received an almost instantaneous reply from a Fashion Luggage rep who resolved it for me. I’m impressed with the product quality and the stellar customer service from this family-owned business based in the USA. I’d gladly do business with them again and look forward to many trips with this luggage, and I would recommend both to friends and family.

Darker than pictured which I actually don't mind because that'll just help hide the inevitable scuffs and dirt marks that comes with travel. Some of the zippers were a bit sticky but may just need to be worked out with use. The wheels roll nicely in all directions and aren't loud. It's my first "spinner" set which I'm excited about. The only thing I'm bummed about is the size of the largest and medium suitcases are smaller than the set I'm replacing. They are about the same depth but about an inch smaller in height and about four inches smaller in width. That can add up to a lot of missing space. Double check the dimensions to your existing set so you don't get the same negative surprise. The only other thing these don't have that I'll miss on my others is the built in/sewn in travel ID area on the back of the suitcases. These will require dangle tags, something that can be easily removed. Speaking of things that dangle, as cute as the tassels are, what an impractical addition. They will have to be removed as I can only foresee them being ripped off with the indelicate care given by airlines. My last set was a high school graduation gift and lasted me a solid 15 years before the wheels fell apart. If this gives me 10 years use, I'll be happy. I will update if any negatives occur.

After shopping luggage online and multiple local stores, I bought this set of luggage in the teal for my daughter for Christmas. I was looking for something durable and classy. I had a hard time deciding between the black or teal. Went with the teal for easy spotting amongst other luggage at the baggage claim. She travels a lot in her job. The luggage arrived securely packaged in one large box with each piece of luggage inside the other. The luggage is a beautiful set from the tan trim to the tassels. So six flights later, multiple baggage handlers and airports, this luggage has held up very well so far and my daughter says she loves it! The spinner wheels are so nice and they spin really well. Great price for a good looking set of luggage. So glad I made this purchase! You will not be disappointed.

I bought these initially because of the print, I thought it was very pretty, but after I received the item, I was very impressed with the overall quality. The wheels rolled very nicely, although I do worry a bit that they stick out from the bag, so I don’t know if they will get knocked around too much. So far, they have lasted two trips, one going to Rio and one to LA, and it is still working just fine. The carry on had no problems going into the overhead cabin and I bought them onboard just fine without anybody raising questions. The inside of the suitcases are quite roomy and have enough pockets so that I can organize things, but I would still recommend getting packing cubes for the best organization. In summary, these are excellent luggage that I would buy again.

I returned the American Tourister POP 3 set that was $100 less than this because the carry on was too big for United's policy (unfortunately the description for that item is not accurate and doesn't list the overall size.) But the quality was very good from what I could see/feel for that price. I decided to just spend the extra $100 and order these. The material is very thin and feels cheap - like a very cheap tent. The adornments are tacky and look like they will probably only serve to snag on other pieces of luggage and tear the bag. The telescoping handle is flimsy and gold - again tacky. My taste may vary from yours. However, there is no getting around the cheap material. So they must go back even though they would meet my size requirement.
