I use this sterilizer in the office mainly to heat treat and clean the dental equipments that are non-critical in dental settings. Anything that goes into patient's mouth need to be sterilized with a sterilizer that is tested regularly by a lab and the sterilizer needs to be registered. For lab tools such as lab knives, mixing spatulas, acrylic burs, and anything that is not used in patient's mouth I use this sterilizer to clean. I needed something smaller than my autoclave, as I just need to clean small instruments now, that don't penetrate the skin. This takes up less space, and is easy to use. Not much assembly is needed, just attach the handle, but that's no problem. Convenient to use, no needing to pressurize or use a stove.

This takes about 5 mins to heat up but it gets really hot. Just using my meat thermometer after 5 mins it was over 500°f. It has a smell and some steam coming out of it but my husband assures me that sort of thing is normal because it's new and will go away with use. But overall it seems very well made and sturdy. You have to attach the handle to the top but it otherwise comes assembled.
