  • One-Year-Old Loves the Door and Mailbox
We bought this a few months ago for Easter for our then 9-month-old (that’s why the basket is in the middle in the first picture). It didn’t come with great directions, and the stickers have to be perfectly placed the first time. I don’t understand why they don’t just add all the stickers at the factory (some are already affixed). I like that it fits in a corner, and she likes to go in and out using the door. She’s also figured out the shape sorter mailbox, and she plays with it a good bit. However, there are some design flaws, or at the very least, puzzling features. As some of the other reviewers mentioned, the balls get lost behind it because there is a little mouse door on the bottom. In one of the pictures, you can see where the blue ball could easily roll into the hole and behind the unit. There is a red cup beside the mailbox—we decided it may be used to launch a ball into the downspout, but we couldn’t make that work. Maybe it is there to just hold a ball; the mystery lingers. The “Step 2” plaque did not have enough adhesive for it to stick to the door, so it fell off enough for me to just toss it in the trash. We were short one plastic black screw to secure the ball holders to the wall of the unit. We searched everywhere to make sure we hadn’t misplaced it somehow. I’m sure I could contact the company to get the screw, but I barely have time to write this review! Finally, for the balls to be the main play object, it is rare for a ball to actually start at the top and travel through all 3 pieces and land anywhere near the sink. They are easily lost and really do not make sense for a garden play unit. She’s walking now, and we have noticed she will entertain herself for longer periods of time playing in and around it, so I do not regret the purchase. It usually ends after she’s lost all the balls. I posted pictures of her size at 9 months so you can gauge if it would be the right size for your little one. My 5-year-old nephew didn’t give it a second glance, and I actually thought he would want to throw a blanket over it for a makeshift fort. I also thought my 8-year-old nephew would play with her in it, but he also doesn’t care about it at all. In hindsight, I think putting the money toward a kitchen set would have been a better long-term idea. She’s too little for most of it now, but she would like the doors and putting items in and out of spaces. Then she would have something to grow into rather than grow out of quite quickly. I would only recommend for 2-years-old and younger, and really only if you need the space as the corner playhouse does work well even in a small space. We will keep it for another year or so, then it will most likely go to a new home to make room for a more age appropriate set as she gets older. I will update the post after I contact customer service to get the lost screw. ... show more

  • No screw holes, hard to put together if you have a bad arm
So starting with the good, this seems really sturdy now that I have it together. I have it in the corner and I think it will hold up just fine, it’ll have to go through the toddler test but I think it’ll do okay. Now as far as assembly, if you have any sort of didability or weakness in your hands/arms/shoulders this is not going to be easy to get together. My shoulder on my dominant side is bad, I’ve had a couple surgeries on it, that said I usually have zero problems putting furniture together and am the designated furniture/toy builder in my household. This was extremely difficult for me to do and took well over an hour, probably closer to 2, because there are no screw holes. This is intentional, the instructions tell you there are no holes and to apply pressure. You need a lot of pressure to get these in and given there are 21 screws, it took a good deal of time and I had to take several breaks because of the pain it caused in my shoulder to push so hard. Once I would finally get the holes started I had to resort to an electric screwdriver to drive them in the rest of the way because of how much effort it took to just get them started. The angles are also really odd for the screws so there’s not much leverage you can get on the other side to make pushing any easier. then just the small nitpicky things, the top “step2” sign was not even remotely in it’s spot so I had to fix that, and if I had to do it over I’d probably put the decals on before putting this thing together. I think my son will adore this, but the build was made much more difficult than it needed to be. ... show more

  • Fun!
My grandson is obsessed with this, it’s lots of fun. He was 8 months when we gave it too him and he LOVED it with help of course. He has had it a couple of months and still plays a lot with it and can now stand on his own and play. (With an adult there too) We bought extra balls separately and that a good idea. ... show more

  • Worth the Money
Bought this for my 11 month old daughter…she LOVES it! My husband was skeptical but once we got it and realized it was worth the money. It keeps her entertained for hours! Putting it together was a pain we had to use a drill to put the screws in as there is no pre drilled holes. We also were missing some screws my husband had to run to Home Depot other than that no issues! ... show more

  • A little cheap, but the entertainment is priceless!
Love the toy, it’s a little difficult to assemble (the screws for the sink were difficult and became a two man job), the red catapults for the balls are already overbent and I’ve had the toy only a week and they also only provide two catapults but have three holes and they are also easily removed which means easily lost, and the yellow removable toy removes a little too easily and has caused a couple falls (I have twins so they bump things a lot playing together). Aside from those problems, which really aren’t major, my boy and my girl both love it! The peekaboo holes are a favorite of my son’s and the sink is my daughter’s favorite. The balls that come with it are okay, but slightly larger ones work better. The door is great for babies to learn dimension and the whole things is just great for kids to learn with. I would definitely recommend! ... show more

My one year old daughter loves this and she's not easily entertained. Super cute!

  • Lots of Fun!
I got this for my Granddaughter's first Birthday. She isn't walking yet but still loves to crawl through and close the door and play with the mailbox, and spinner toys on the side. She LOVES launching the balls in the air! The only thing I'm not a fan of is the "mouse" hole in the bottom that the balls roll through. It is inconvenient to have to retrieve the balls from behind the "house". Other then that she loves it and I think it will get a couple years of play. ... show more
