My 3 yr old loves this easel! It is the perfect size for her at 3 and I believe she will have many years to grow with it! We love the storage self for keeping the magnetic letters on and the holders at each end for markers and chalk. The magnetic letters that come with this set are made of foam, but they are holding up pretty well for us. We also bought some plastic ones, so we mix and match them when we need extra letters. My daughter loves to make words on her board. She also loves to color and draw on this board. At her height she likes to just set her paper on the bottom lip of the board, but she is also tall enough to use the clip at the top. We probably use the white board more than the chalk board, but that is just because it is magnetic and it seems like it would be easier to get the marks off of. We use washable crayons and markers and I have never had trouble wiping them off the white board if she slips while coloring. For the white board, we found white board crayons. They wash off really easy and our board looks just like it did when we got it. I have not had a chance to fold it up and put it away since she plays with it nearly everyday, but I like that we have the option to fold it and put it against the wall if needed. I think the plastic is pretty sturdy and I am very happy with the quality of the product. The plastic tray seems pretty strong too since my 28 lbs child has laid across the tray on a few occasions. We bought this along with Melissa & Doug’s roll of paper, finger painting paper, and paint brushes and paint cups. I also bought finger paints, and washable markers. The set was a big hit on my grand’s 2nd birthday.

This was super simple to put together. It came in 2 pieces(the easel and the yellow tray). There’s plenty of space on the tray to put the letters, chalk and markers etc. It seems to be very good quality and looks like it will last for years. My daughter is 2 years old and 34in tall so she’s got quite a few inches before she’s taller than the easel. She loves putting all the letters up on the board and then swiping them all down. I do agree with another reviewer that the markers leave residue behind even after erasing, but I just took a paper towel with a little water and it cleaned up the rest. It’s even got Velcro on one of the legs so that when you fold it, it stays closed. I like the clips for when you want to draw on paper instead of the board. I like the magnet letters but I kind of wish they were plastic. My daughter likes to chew on them so a lot of them have bite marks on them now. She would bite on it if it was plastic too but at least it wouldn’t leave bite marks. Anyhow I already had plastic magnetic letters that I got from Walmart so she’s using both on the board.     • Great toy, but not for a two-year-old
The Easel was exactly what our grandchildren wanted use to give their 2-year-old for his second birthday. It is sturdy, hard to upset, and attractive to the kids. The box says "Three years old and older," and that is a valid warning. Although the kids illustrated on the box do not appear to yet be three, I do not think one younger than three would really take advantage of the toy. The floppy magnetic bonus letters and numbers went directly from the whiteboard into our little boy's little mouth, prompting a granddaddy emergency as he fingered the colored plastic pieces from the orifice unwilling to give up the chew, as he (the granddaddy) glared at me for putting the magnetic teaching aids on the metal whiteboard in the first place. No fiber markers were provided in the box as stated on the "contents" sheet, and I didn't think to buy the boy any. That was a good thing, as the child would have immediately begun marking the walls and the furniture and various pieces of clothing, not knowing that the marking is supposed to be used on the white surface of the easel. The markers would have joined the letters and numbers in the upper shelves of the cabinet had markers been provided. There are clips for butcher paper pads at the top of the easel on both sides which, for a while, will be used only with those "magic" disappearing markers if my great grandchild ever decides to take advantage of the easel for actually drawing, writing, or marking and his mom ever decides to let him try. ... show more

    • Great for toddlers
I bought this for my ganddaughter who is 2 1/2. She uses it everyday and loves it. In the weeks that we have had it I have noticed her drawing and writing skills improving as we draw shapes, simple things and identify colors. I am excited to her using it for a long time.
