The design on Stelton jug is pretty timeless but I must say that I quite bought into the hype because other than the design, this is just a VERY basic vacuum jug. It's very slim, yes, but it's also made of plastic and the internal glass liner is extremely fragile - the first one broke in shipping although Amazon promptly replaced it. The picnic cap is also a really cheap piece of plastic that doesn't exactly lock properly. In terms of keeping the beverage hot, it works as well as a regular stainless steel Thermos - I warmed up the jug first before filling it with boiling water for tea. The water stayed hot enough to steep tea for about 8 hours. It definitely doesn't work as well as my old Alfi carafe. ... show more

The only way this vacuum jug could keep your liquid very very hot over an 8 hour period of time is for you to use the thermos attachment, rather than the pour spout. Pour spout can give you about 3 to 4 hour of relatively hot coffee. I still think it' has a well designed pour sputt and the looks of it is stunning in my kitchen. My wife and I like to joke that the longer you leave your tea in here, the hotter it gets. If I leave it out overnight, the tea may just reach the plasma state. Seriously, we've been incredibly happy with this jug, and hope that it survives long enough to become the design heirloom that others have mentioned. ... show more

I bought this because I just had to have another stelton jug. Love the unique stopper that makes for easy pouring, as well as its clean lines. I gave this 4 stars because the "white" is not a cool white; I was expecting something closer to raw eggshell white, or refrigerator white. I had a Stelton thermos for 30 years, bought in Demnark. When I needed a recent replacement I was disappointed to see the body of the thermos crack. I exchanged for a new one and now the second casing and lid have cracked.
