This is the second Stelton bread bag I have purchased. I bought my first one on a trip to Denmark when we were served in the home of a relative bread in an all canvas Stelton bag. My husband and I liked it so much we purchased one for our home. That was in 2004. After many washings it developed some frays and it was getting stained from the oil in the warm bread. I was so excited to receive my bread bags. As an artisan bread baker I wanted to have a way of sending off a fresh loaf to my son’s house and this seemed perfect. Sadly the items I received do not match the amazon description. The bags DO NOT HAVE MAGNETS and the size is 9x9”, not the larger size indicated on the description. In fact, these bowls are not the same as the website picture. Note stitching differences and size differences. . The company who shipped this to me replied to my complaint with a note indicating Stelton has discontinued the magnets and that the amazon product description is wrong but they did not have the power to fix it themselves because it’s sold by multiple merchants. Stelton’s website also describes the bag as containing magnets so I am not sure what to make of all this. Very disappointed. I’m debating if I want to keep them as I fear they will not be as useful as I’d hoped. It was suggested I use a chip clip to close the bag, but in my mind that is not a satisfactory solution for a $40 mini cloth bucket. I wanted the magnets. It was a big selling point to me. Bought these before. Years ago. And I love the thick quality. So, Bought this once because it had magnets. Mine did not. It’s just the bowl. Bummed. Cause I already have bowls. Bought this for the magnets. Beware. If u don’t have magnets. It won’t stay closed. So expect a bowl.

The bag was smaller than I expected. Other than that, it does what it's supposed to do. My bread doesn't build up too much moisture (like if I put it in a sealed container), and it doesn't dry out (like if I left it on the counter). In order to keep a full loaf in the bag, I do have to clip the top of the bag with a clothes pin or office clip. Once I get to half a loaf, the bag performs beautifully on its own. ... show more

The bread basket is perfect for putting warm bread ... Enough for 3 people... And close up to keep it warm. If more people are present the rim can be folded up higher and it will accommodate more bread. I have another basket that I'm using as my crochet basket.
