This is great! Everyone in the family loves to play with this (so much that we’ve now given some away as gifts). The tones are nice, it’s enjoyable (and easy) to play, is the perfect size (not too large for storing or display, and nicely sized for finding all of the notes easily with the included mallets). Even visitors become intrigued and feel compelled to play on it for a while. The kiddos have made up their own songs with it and like to share them. (It does come with a music book, which has been referenced, though the instrument itself is so easy to play that most play it by ear . . . read the book and then figure things out as they go.) It’s a nice bonus that this comes with a carrying pouch, to keep everything together. It’s also been said that this sounds nice in the rain, though we haven’t yet tried that — Imagine that it’ll be safe and may be a neat experience . . maybe the next time that it rains…..(?) The color is pleasant, the materials and paint quality are top-notch, the mallets are great (it also includes thumb thumper thingies that we’ve tried and may appreciate more in the future as we become even more familiar with this house-favorite musical instrument), the pouch is a nice bonus, … Overall: This is great. Glad to have found this and brought it home. This isn’t a ‘buy and forget’ sort of thing; it’s become somewhat of a household phenomenon that has created lasting enjoyment, interest, and intrigue.

I bought this because in the description it said it was a rain drum. It needs to be raining very hard for this to work. My husband likes to play on it but it’s not why I purchased it. For it to be raining hard enough for it to work you would be having a storm and who would have the window open during that to hear it. It’s nice though but not what I bought it for.

Cute little drum. Easy to learn without a whole lot of guidance. It has very mellow and less annoying notes than a lot of instruments. A teacher I know mentioned it might be a nice addition to her classroom for younger children. I have someone in my house that will drive me insane with playing all kinds of random instruments she collects and refuses to actually learn to play properly. All in all, this one is tolerable. 10/10 gift.

This is a very interesting drum! We placed it outside to listen to it when it’s raining and it omits an amazing sound! When there’s a warm breeze, it’s very soothing to the ears!!! It comes with a music sheet that allows you to play different songs - once you get the hang of it, you can look online for more rain drum music and continue to play along to the beat! It’s small enough to travel with but not small where it’s hard to play on! What’s good about this, you really don’t need to hit it hard to make it sound: just a tap is more than enough. Awesome and enjoyable
