SHARP! Before making the purchase I looked at the steel used to forge these knives. This is a high-quality German steel that retains a sharp edge for a long time reducing the need to constantly sharpen the blade. Past experience with a relatively inexpensive knife set was disappointing with edges ragged and far from being truly sharp. Right out of the box these knives are delightfully sharp with clean edges. And these were only $28 making this set a very good value for the price, especially with the steel used. I prefer non-serrated knives for two reasons: 1. They do not tear meat. 2. They can easily be sharpened unlike serrated knives which essentially have to be thrown away. Delivery was quick, the product was well packaged and certainly is as described. The handle fits nicely in my hand and the blade is full length with the tang extending beyond the end of the handle. No worry about the knife blade breaking or handle coming off. The size is perfect for the intended use whereas some steak knives in this price range are much shorter. It looks expensive but came in at a very affordable price.

I'd been wanting some new steak knives for a while, since my old ones were getting pretty beat up. I bought a private label brand (from this site) a few years ago and at first I thought they were a bargain because they looked nice, felt good in the hand, and seemed to be well constructed. But they didn't cut well, and the big serrations seemed to tear more than cut. So back to my old ones I went. I like these Oaksware knives for a number of reasons. First and foremost for me, they are NOT serrated. I prefer how a sharp, smooth-bladed knife cuts meat and veggies compared to a serrated knife, and I'm reasonably adept at sharpening non-serrated knives. These are on the larger side but not ridiculous, and they have a nice heft to them without seeming overly bulky. Well balanced, these knives have great handles and are easy to, well, handle. Quality construction, with a decent grade of steel, full tang, comfortable handles, nice looking, and sharp out of the box. After nearly pulling the trigger on more expensive German-brand knives (both of the main ones), I'm glad I cheaped out a little bit and took the chance on these. My kitchen knives run the gamut from no-names, to common American brands, and vintage German knives made in Solingen, and these fit in well with my eclectic collection. They look more expensive than they were and they work very well. We'll see about durability, time will tell, but I fully expect them to last a long time, and I'm going to buy four more. Nothing not to like, except that they're a tad too wide to fit the steak knife slots in my block, so they'll stay in a drawer but that's fine.

I just bought this very sharp knives and my wife loved them when she cut up a Huge Washington Naval Oranges 🍊 and it cut so well that today she ordered another 8 set knives. I have German HENCKELS Knives Set a few years ago and every time I keep to use any of these knives I have to Sharpen each one and especially trying cut Brisket or Watermelons 🍉 the knives right away lose their Sharpest. They are worth the Price and will order the same knives but larger set instead.

These knives have the look and feel of high-quality cutlery. They are very sharp and hold an edge well with occasional honing. I've sharpened them once since I bought them. They also seem very sturdy and well-made. Some reviewers have complaints of rusting, but I haven't seen a hint of rust after owning them for about four months. I always wash them by hand as instructed, but they have occasionally spent the night in a wet sink to no ill effect. Others have suggested that the terms "Made in China" and "German" steel indicate some dishonesty on the part of the seller. However, it is common practice for sellers of many different products to design them in the US, specify the materials to be used, and have them manufactured in China or another country. I looked at a lot of options before purchasing these knives and didn't see anything that offered more value. The knife block is both useful and attractive, too.
