I needed an HDMI monitor adapter for my laptop because the laptop HDMI port stopped working and I couldn't find a solution. This adapter was three times more expensive than other adapters in the same category. It had very high ratings, and so that's why I chose it over the cheaper counterparts with lesser ratings. I didn't want to have to deal with an inferior product that was hard to install. I followed the instructions for installation. Evidently, it's very important to download the most current driver before connecting the adapter. So after I downloaded the most current driver, it was plug-and-play. It worked without issue. I couldn't see a difference between this adapter and when I had connected my monitor directly via HDMI cable to my laptop. I can't say it's worth the difference in price, having not tried the cheaper products, but this is a high-quality item that worked very well for me. I highly recommend it. ... show more

Don’t mind my current setup, I‘m working on it! But I‘ve been trying to find an adapter that’s able to support both my monitor and drawing display while using a gaming laptop. I‘ve been buying adapters that range from $10-$15 and they were all awful. It lags my computer very badly due to the software that is needed. This one said you needed to download a driver however it worked perfectly fine when I plugged it in without downloading it which is awesome!! It works smoothly when I use a drawing display while watching something at the same time. I haven’t tested it for gaming yet since I don’t play heavy loaded games very often so I will try to leave an update when I do. But so far I‘m so happy to finally find a perfect adapter so I can finally use my drawing display without any issues. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I too tried to cheap out and buy a $10 version and wasted a day messing around with it. I bought this one, installed the drivers, plugged in the adapter and it came right up. I am using this to connect to a HDMI to Composite converter which then connects to my Boss 9982I single DIN in-dash video player which I mounted into a box on my computer desk. This now gives me four monitors and I use this one mostly for Spotify or YouTube music videos. I can't give you any feedback for gaming purposes but for watching videos it does very well. I'd give it 5 stars but I posted a question on their Community Web site with no responses but I am sure if you contacted them directly they would probably get back to you.
